~*Amy and Shawn’s PJ*~June 6th, 2011 - Our Hawaiian Honeymoon!

I still haven't received ANY more replies since the due date last Friday, and am still missing about 11. I'm giving people until next weekend and then were calling! A lot of the ones we are waiting for I know they are either coming or not coming, I don't understand what's so hard about checking Will attend or won't attend, and then sticking the addressed envelope with a stamp already on it in the mailbox at the end of the driveway? :confused3 Anyway, I took my MOH to look at bridesmaid dresses the past two days. I decided it was better to just take her to narrow it down to a few we like, before bringing all my girls. We have an appointment to go next Wednesday with all, or some, of the girls to try on the one's we pulled, and then hopefully make a decision and order them because both places we went were like... "Your wedding is this JUNE!" I guess i need to get going on that! Oh, and I discovered that they opened an Alfred Angelo store near my house in January!!!!:yay: We went there for bridesmaid dresses and LOVED a bunch of them! I can't seem to get the picture onto here from the Alfred Angelo site of the dresses we pulled, but I'll try and remember to take some pictures when we go back. That's where we decided to go back on Wednesday. However I am upset because I soooooo wanted to try on all the Disney dresses that were right there on display, but my mom and MOH wouldn't let me since I already have my dress. Why couldn't this store have opened two months earlier? I also got some of the goodies I ordered in, I feel like I'm finally making progress on getting all the little things I need for the wedding. Here is what is new:

My tiara. It's kind of tough to see but it matches my dress great cuz it has some little flowers on it just like the dress does.

My garter. IDK if I mentioned this before, but I am a HUGE red sox fan, and DF is a yankees fan, so I thought it would be fun to get a red sox garter and not tell him about it!

I ordered this iron on rhinestone transfer from ebay, and I have a few more on the way from an Etsy seller, and I will be making a shirt to wear on the morning of the wedding.

I found a great deal on ebay for the David Tutera ring bearer pillow, I got it for only $19.99! When I saw it for that price I decided to go for it! Here it is in the original packaging and everything.

I also made a video that included pictures of my family at Disney over the years, that continued onto me and DF going there, and ended with our engagement pictures. We are going to have it played on the motorcoach as guests are transported from the ceremony to the reception. It was a lot of work but I am sooo happy with it, it turned out great! I used lots of fun songs like the Wishes song, a dream is a wish your heart makes, zip-a-dee-do-da, today I met the boy I'm going to marry when DF comes into the picture, and someday my prince will come. I can't wait for our guests to see it. I am also working on booking our honeymoon since our tax return will be coming any day now, I'm trying to get all the plans down. We have 5 one way flights to book so it is a nightmare!

Ahhh.... LOVE the pillow!! Can't wait to get mine in!! I hope that it's as amazing as it looks in pictures!!! :cloud9:

It's great in person! I'm super happy with it, I can't wait to show my ring bearer, his mom told me the other day we was asking when he was getting his tux!

So my girls have ordered their bridesmaid dresses! (Well, most of them!) We went back to Alfred Angelo and they took turns trying on the six dresses I had pulled. I was worried that it was going to be hard deciding on a dress. All along I told the girls it was there choice. I didn't want them spending a lot of money on something they weren't happy with, and it didn't matter much to me what they chose as long as it was wedding appropriate. I seriously can't believe how easy and drama free it was. The girls easily narrowed it down, and then all decided they liked the one dress the best. And guess which one it was.... the one that I have liked from day 1. If you look at pg. 3 of my PJ, I posted the dress I liked back in January of LAST year! It worked out so well, everyone was happy with the dress, they got to choose it, and they chose the one I wanted anyway! Here is a picture of it. They are scheduled to come in at the end of April, which gives us just enough time to get alterations! I'm glad this is checked off the list!

I was looking at the same dress for DD!!
However she went, in the end, for something similar but full length and with wider straps. Here it is

I love the dress you chose as well! It looks very "flowy" if you know what I mean! :lmao: That's one reason the girls chose the dress they did, it will be June in Florida so that wanted something light and flowy!

I am very excited to share that I was chosen by Carly to be a contributor to the Disney Wedding Blog! I love her blog and it has helped me sooo much with my wedding planning, and I am hoping I can help some other Disney brides as well! Here is the link to the post where I am introduced on her blog:

In other news, I have been having trouble finding a card box for the wedding, and Amanda (Sccrmnky2005) has been nice enough to offer to make one for me! She is wonderful at DIY projects, so I can't wait to see how it turns out! Just another reason why I love the DIS boards!

I have also been working on our seating chart, since we have (almost) determined who is coming/not coming to the wedding, and I am hoping to order our favors and place cards soon, as well as to start making thank you notes to be placed in our napkins. I feel like I have soooo much to do!

I also submitted and didn't make it (but I also haven't picked a date yet :lmao:). I'm so glad to see a couple DIS-ers got picked!! Congrats!

Congratulations!! I've been following her blog since I started planning a Disney wedding. I think it was the first thing that popped up when I googled!

Here is what we decided on, I am hoping to order them soon, I am in the process of trying to find the best deal and a website I trust buying these from:

There are sooo many choices out there! We decided on these because they go with our theme and colors, and I think they are so cute!

We also ordered our place cards yesterday, I think I may have posted these a while back, but here they are again since now they are officially on there way. They were expensive for place cards but I love them! I got them from an Etsy seller:

I have finally made a decision on what to do the first night in terms of meeting up with our guests, so hopefully it will stick this time. I REALLY would love to do a welcome party, but there is just no way we can fit it into the budget, as I have already cut everything I could possibly live without, and with our guest list climbing over 50 (which I am very pleased about in one sense), it is just not feasible. However, I really wanted to do something with our guests before the wedding. Many of our guests will be going into the parks and doing there own things, and that is great, but many will not, and will just be at their hotels (which are still a lot of fun), but I felt like a lot of guests would not only enjoying seeing us, but also having an "event" to attend other than the wedding. After talking to many guests and them expressing their desire to spend time with us, I felt like I needed to come up with some way to see everyone who wanted to see us before the wedding.

A while back I explored the possibility of doing a "come if you want" welcome dinner at DTD (Raglan Road was the front runner), but decided against it because guests would have to pay for their own meals (a pain to have a million separate checks), and dealing with the best way to make a reservation since we wanted guests to be able to wait until that day to decide if they wanted to come. At that point I decided to give up on the idea, especially because DF informed me he wanted to do MK that day with his family (most of whom have never been to Disney), and he wanted to watch Wishes with them from main street. So, that was out.

Then I decided we could make reservations at California Grill, which would work well for his family and us since we would be at MK all day, and inviting whoever wanted to attend. However, as we all know, you must confirm all reservations at Cali. grill and you are charged $25 pp for no shows. Hmmm.... how is this going to work? Most people probably won't want to commit or spend the money, so this wasn't the best idea either.

Well, the other day it hit me, why not have everyone meet somewhere around the MK area where we don't have to make reservations or reserve anything, or worry about separate checks, and people can come for an hour, say hi, etc. Great, sounds like a plan! The next question was, where? I decided to look at the options at the GF, Poly, and Contemporary, since this would be easy for us and DF's family who would be at MK, and we could still keep our reservations at Cali. Grill for those who wanted to attend dinner with us, which is also close by. Here is what I came up with, I really think it is the perfect solution to my long dilema, and I think it will be a lot of fun!

Grand Floridian Beach Pool Bar: 13 stools, all shaded (Plus plenty of tables and chairs around the bar area)
Location: Grand Floridian / Pool with rock feature Reservations: Not Required Hours: 11:00am- 7:00pm

We will tell guests that we will be at this location at 4:15, and invite them to drop by and say hi, and have a drink or two. Anyone who wants to come can, anyone who doesn't no problem! We will also be asking guests ahead of time if anyone would like to come to Cali. grill for dinner afterwords (I have two large reservations right now). I like this option because guests who want to spend their time in the parks can do so without feeling like the have to attend another event, guests who want something to do or to see us can do so, and it will fit well into our schedule and budget. I also like that guests can walk around the grounds of the GF, or along the beach, or even over to the WP for a sneak peek! What do you think?

I love the idea of the fun informal meet and greet!! GREAT IDEA!!

I'm working on your card box, I've got the bottom tier painted (the blue is AMAZINGLY PRETTY with the glitter over top of it!! I wish I had that color- lol) and "love" done in silver. I'm just waiting for the other size box to come in, hoping to get it this weekend to be able to finish up everything and at least send you a picture soon.

I'll be off all next week so it will definitly be done by then. I haven't found the right flowers for it yet but I've only been to joann, the michaels by me closed down :sad1::sad1: and when I was out on Sunday Hobby lobby was closed, so I plan to go there this weekend. I'll keep you updated!:goodvibes

Thank you!

I have a few small updates. We got our aisle runner in, and I love it! It also came in an easy-to-transport box, which I am thankful for as I had no idea how I was going to get it to Florida. I also got the rest of my rhinestone iron transfers (from etsy) I am going to use to make myself shirt, and my place cards, which are also great! My grandma does calligraphy, so I am going to ask her to write our guests names on them. We got enough so everyone could have one for themselves, as I think they will add to the table decor. Here are some pictures:

We also took a trip this weekend with my sister (MOH) and my brother in law (on of the best men) to visit some friends who recently moved in Fredrick MD. We had a chance to go to D.C. & Baltimore as well. It was a lot of fun and nice to get a chance to be in semi-warmer weather. Here are a few pic's:

I think an informal meet & greet is a great idea! I was thinking of something similar that I could do with my guests, so I might have to steal that idea from you!
