I booked roundtrip Raleigh to Kissimmee. I thought Kissimmee was closer to WDW. I called ****** Transportation for a car to pick us up and he told me I should get off in Orlando and I would be in my resort before the train gets to Kissimmee. I booked with him b/c I thought $100 roundtrip is about the best rate I am going to find. Did he tell me the truth?:confused3

I can;t say for sure... but I did check the Amtrak schedule, and it looks like the Kissimmee station is about 40 minutes after the Orlando stop...

We just booked our trip to Orlando from Philadelphia, so I'm looking forward to seeing if anyone has a better answer for you!

I'm sure you were told that it would be quicker not just for your convienence but so he could get your money.

If you take the train to Kissamee cab fare range from $20 to $30.

It depends on i4 traffic - if you arrive between 11am -4::30pm there is no traffic between orlando and disney after 4:30pm you could hit traffic. Usually I4 has traffic from orlando - disney between 4:30 - 6:30pm.

I have heard that Kissimmee is closer, but not positive. We are going into Orlando because we rented a car and Orlando has the Hertz counter. Kissimmee doesn't.

Kissimmee is closer to WDW, but the Orlando station stop takes a prolonged amount of time due to the number of passengers who board or detrain there. Hence, if your ride is waiting at Orlando and you don't have to wait on checked baggage to be distributed or something, then you might well be in Disney before the train reaches Kissimmee. It will be a somewhat longer distance, though, so if you're paying by the mile (taxi) its a more expensive trip.

Kissimmee station is about 14 miles from WDW and Orlando station is about 19 miles from WDW. We're leaving from Raleigh, NC and into Kissimmee. A taxi from Kissimmee to POP is between $20 -- $45.

I can't imagine you getting there before the train but maybe:confused3
I would consider renting a car if you are already planning on spending $100 for just 30 minutes! Rent from Hertz and get off in Orlando. You could have the car for days for the same $100:thumbsup2
