Amtrak in Niagara Falls or Buffalo

Has anyone taken an Amtrak train from either of these stations? We are going to visit friends in New York City over our Thanksgiving weekend and were planning to drive but I discovered that we could take the train for only $50 more than the cost of gas. The train departs around 3am and gets us into NYC before 11am so the timing is fantastic and I think it would be a lot of fun to travel this way....I've done it many times but my kids have not.

So on to my question....
The train station only has 5 long term parking spots so I can't trust that we can drive there and leave the car (we will be gone 4 days). Does anyone know of any other options to park near either the Niagara Falls or Buffalo station? We wondered if we could park at BUF and maybe get a shuttle to the train station but I have no idea where to even look for that.

I did it last spring. No clue if I parked in a long term spot or not, but my car was there untouched when I came back a week later.

travel is comfortable for sure, but was full after about half the stops. It was great though, I really enjoyed it!
