Amtrak from GTA

Has anyone taken the Amtrak to Virginia into Sanford?

We've never done this, and as of now, seems to make the most sense for us. I don't fancy driving that long in the winter and the kids would love a train ride.

I have several questions:

Best route into Lorton Virginia?
Top or bottom car? I read the top is bumpier?
They offer discounts for AAA - do they for CAA members?
Do they play movies?
Do you recommend a roomette?

I can't answer most of your questions BUT i do know that *most* places will have their discounts listed as AAA/CAA so I'd venture a guess that you would get the same discount. I know from looking at the train before there are some codes floating out there if you google and they do have deals for booking early.
