Amount of rooms Priceline has WDW or not

I have been trying to expain something in another thread & it was suggested to create a different thread for it. This is not meant to put anyone down, just to let others know about bidding for something they may not really use just because Disney is popping up. Some of this is a repeat of what other posters are saying, but I really feel it needs to be stressed again...

1. Do not bid on PL if you do not want to chance getting any other place except PL

2. You cannot really "increase" your chance of getting particular resort by doing it a certian way. PL is a gamble, you are bidding on something that is not a definate other than you will end up with a place to stay for the dates you put in.

3. Pl will only guarantee sleeping for 2. In Orlando, the chance of getting a king bed are slim, but remember, it can happen.

3. PL ressies are suppose to be non-transferable therefore selling them (on Ebay or where ever just because you are not happy with where you are at) is not the "right" thing to do.

4. PL is like death, it is final. You cannot change it, cancel it etc. Be sure of your dates when you are bidding. They do have insurance you can take out, but you must prove why you are canceling even with the insurance (ie: death, illness etc.. you cannot just change your mind with PL). You cannot call them (**or the hotel) and ask them to add or change a name on your ressie. There is one name & only one name on it until check in.
**WDW seems to be an exception to adding the names from what I have seen some posters say, at least for the Magical Express. The norm is to not add names until you arrive.

5. Also, remember, some hotels charge a service fee that you will be responsible for paying for upon check in. No, Disney doesn't do that but some do. Your PL bid does not cover any "resort fee's" or parking charges. You will have to pay that to the hotel directly. PL does state that before you hit that final enter on your bid. ( a special note to those that won the Nikki Bird, they do have a resort fee. I have seen where some posters said they did not have to pay it, but for the most part, you cannot argue the fee with the hotel). Some hotel may also charge a fee for a cot/crib if you try to request one, again PL bid doesn't cover it, you pay the hotel directly.

Here is a note to all that have a room thru PL but are not going to use because it isn't where you want it... or the dates aren't good etc...
Once you bid on a date, you have removed a room from PL's availability that can never be placed back in. At some point, PL can sell out of a certian date. That date may be one in the middle of someones stay & they cannot get anything (at any resort) because that one date has nothing left. You may be holding a room on that date you are not going to use (because you didn't get what you wanted, jumped the gun & bid when you really should not have.. whatever the reason may be). You have basically taken it away from someone needing it. It doens't matter what hotel is coming up, it is the date I am taking about now. People please think everything out before bidding. I am not saying that PL is only for "real PL'ers", but there are some that use PL often no matter what hotel is coming up. They know the rules, they know the chances they take. Then you have the bidders that have never done it before, or not very often & are only using it because WDW is coming up. If that is your only reason for using PL, PL is not right for you. There is more to it than just WDW. By taking up a date you really aren't going to use, it can ruin someone else's true PL vacation plans. Remember there are people that use PL for their entire vacation, not just for a chance to get a WDW hotel cheap.

I hope I have explained this to where everyone understands what I am saying. If there are any posters that can explain it better or have more to add, please join in & help explain my point.

Good information. However you do know that here everything can be debated, because someone will come along and state your facts are your opinion. Believe me know that one from personal experience.

Yeah, I have seen that At least some will understand what I am trying to say. In the long run, I do think that this will help some dispite what others what to think.

a friend of mine is at the Nikki Bird now. She won it on PL the other day. She was really worried since she saw the pic's I had of my disgusting room. Upon check in she told them at the desk about me. She told them I was in the very back section & she didn't want to be there. The woman knew exactly which bldg I had been, she showed her on the map. So, they do know they have some rooms that are not up to standards. My friend was placed into a poolside room behind the main bldg. She is in the 200's & said the room is ok. No mold, no bugs, pretty clean & everything in working order. She was able to see that there was a poolside movie going on & there was a popcorn machine out as well. This may help some that are having real fears of the Nikki Bird. If you are checking in, just tell them you do not want the very back section...tell them about a "friend" that had a really dirty, moldy room back there. They will know which bldg & not put you there
