Amex Pass card change of terms

Just got an email that they have amended the card agreement:

# We’ve eliminated the monthly membership fee: Please see Fee Schedule.
# American Express will not charge you anything for the first ATM withdrawal on the card per month & subsequent withdrawals each month will incur a $2.00 fee from American Express (other third party ATM fees may apply to all ATM transactions): Please see Fee Schedule.


This is awesome cause I got my girls cards during the 50 dollar promo last year and planned to cancel in Oct when they started charging fees. Now they will get to keep them!

I was just thinking the other day about how I'm going to miss having that card for DD come October. It's come in quite handy, but I didn't want to pay the monthly fee so I was going to cancel. Thanks OP for pointing that email message out. After reading your post I found the message in my email inbox, but may have deleted it by mistake had I not known.

The only thing I don't like is that many places don't take Amex. That's left DD hanging a few times and then I end up sending cash with her just in case -- which defeats the purpose of having the card!

Well, so far we haven't ran into too many places that won't take the card, but they mainly use it for shopping. I feel safer putting money on the card than handing over cash.

The new terms also allows 1 free Atm withdraw a month which is good for the occasional time that they may need cash instead.

The free roadside assistance is a big plus too. I might have to get me a card the next time they offer a promo
