AmEx Offers - One for TV, Another for Cell Phone

I found 2 AmEx offers on my cards today.

The first one is for 10% back on your cable/satellite TV bill up to $30 total in statement credits. Must add to card before paying the bill. Expires 11/15/17.

The other is 10% back on your cell phone bill (limited to T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T Wireless, US Cellular and Verizon and no prepaid cells). A maximum of $30 per account total. Also needs to be added to your card first. Expires 11/15/17.

I only got cell and I use straight talk so I can't use it.

I got 1000 points for cell phone of $100+ in one transaction (3x). Since I have a go phone my bill is $40 so useless.

Had both in my Delta Amex account, used the Cel Phone one to pay my Verizon bill yesterday. Will use the cable one next month. Also had a $15/$50 at Petco and spent $50 in store only to find it's for online only.

Not really. I get $5 off per month for auto pay. So if I prepaid, I'd lose that. It would cost me more to use this ($10 in points vs $15 in auto pay savings).

One of my accounts is an HHonors Amex and both cards had the offers.

Ok, dumb question - both offers say "Payments must be made directly with the provider online, via mobile app or by phone." If I use auto pay will it still count?

I guess I will swap to Amex card after the Disney Visa promo ends in Aug.

My Amex Platinum does not have these offers...I think they target the offers based on the level of card. I have lots of offers for wine, jewelry, and travel....

Just checked mine this morning and there's an offer for up 50k points if I book a Cruise through them. Even though we just came off a Cruise this year I am very tempted...

I am wondering that too. If I pay my cable bill directly through the website they charge a $3.95 fee...

Not sure if I missed it on Saturday, or if it was added after, but when I looked at my Amex Offers this morning, my Amex Blue Cashback card had the 10% off your cell phone bill offer. I just went online and charged $300 to my Tmobile bill (overpaid, but the extra credit will be applied to next month's bill) and got the Amex redemption email shortly after.

Interesting datapoint. If you have ATT or Verizon and you got both offers, You can double dip on both offers. So i just paid my ATT bill, i got 2 $18 credit back. making it 20% off!

I didn't have either offer on my Blue Cash account, but DW had both on her AU card to that account. We only have internet through the cable company, not TV, so I hope it still gives us the credit for that one. The next autopay will go through on the 14th so I'll find out then I guess.
