Amex gift card

I have an american express gift card that I received. When I tried to pay on our trip the TA said it wouldnt go through because wdw doesnt except these towards payment (they gift card doesnt have an expiration date like a typical credit card or security code). I then tried to use it at walgreens to buy a disney gift card and they said you cannot buy a gift card with a gift card. Any thoughts on who would take a gift card for a gift card..maybe disney store? I know I can use it for souviniers etc but i really wanted to pay some on package.

Here's what I would do...imagine a $100 Amex gift card. Also imagine a trip to the grocery store with a $100 grocery budget.... Simply pay for the groceries with the gift card instead of your cash, then take the cash to the travel agent and pay the $100 toward your trip. It all works out the same.

We used a few American Express gift cards to pay for our room charges at DW a week ago. I just went to the front desk and had them apply the cards to our bill. It was no problem.

Let me know if that worked for you. I have a $25 Amex gc I won in a gift basket and turning it into a Disney gc would be perfect.

Every Amex gift card I get is always turned into a Disney gift card at the Disney Store, never ran into a problem with it and have been getting them for years. You can't use it at the DS online because a $1 hold is placed on the card, so if you try to buy a $25 gift card with a $25 Amex card, it gets rejected.
