Anyone going to watch it tonight? I summer TV for all of the reality tv shows. :cool1:

Sounds like the new Gong Show, which I loved!

My question is... who said the JUDGES had talent???? And WHY give Regis ANOTHER SHOW?????

Well it sure ain't Randy, Paula and Simon! :rotfl2:

America's Got Talent

I'll forgive the AI rip off if they can give me a Bo or Taylor like competitor. :yay:

Just wanted to add, The Husband is NOT going to be happy when he hears about this. :lmao:

OMG! I'm loving the talent they've got. You've got to check out all the videos! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

http://www.nbc.com/Americas_Got_Talent/

Click where it says Watch Now and once you get there there's a bunch of boxes on the right top. Young people, Old people, animal acts and just plain weird stuff. Toooo Funny!

Okay, just have to say, so not impressed. :sad2: I fell asleep during the second hour, it just wasn't good! :sad2: Taking it off my TIVO!

Hated it,,,, I think it started when they were mean to the parrot, It takes alot of work to get a bird to do that.Even one as smart as the grey

How about the 90 year old male stripper!?!?!?! Yikes!

Or the break dancing cow.

I thought some were good but it does appear to be an updated version of the Gong show. Which I loved too.

I give this one season. Heck, they have to give out at least 1 million bucks.

I wasn't very impressed. Even though that 14 yr old who sang Whitney did a nice job. I would like to see her on American Idol in a couple of years.

My sons thought the Rappin' Granny was pretty impressive. :teeth:

I had to TIVO it as I was watching SYTYCD. From the little I saw during the other show's commercial breaks, it looked like fun. It really is the Gong show, 2006 version. Even the GS had the occasional real talent.

I've got to admit I was :happytv: when I saw the cow number. Where do they find these people?? :rotfl:

Eh, a little mindless junk in the summer works for me. Can't wait to watch the rest of the show today. :teeth:

I hated the few minutes that I watched too. I switched right back to So You Think You Can Dance, but I'm not feelin' that show too much either. I hate summer TV! The only bright spots are Entourage and the CK Louis show right after it on HBO. I guess I'll keep watching the news and Court TV. Even though Nancy Grace can be annoying, the show is compelling.

Mostly lame acts and very lame judges, especially Hasselhoff and Brandy. Was there anyone she didn't like?

I watched during commerical breaks of Criminal Minds. I don't see myself tuning in again. That was a big waist of time.

I think they could've shrank it down to an hour and a half program if they didn't have so many darn commercials. That's what irritated me the most. It was like do one act, have a commercial break that's 5 minutes long, come back and do two more acts, another 5 min commercial break. By the end of the first hour, all those commercials were irritating the heck out of me.

ITA with the WTH on the pirate:/donkey act. And that first juggler who juggled to "Cotton Eyed Joe"..he stunk. He deserved to be X'd off.

I think my favorite was the 8 year old comedienne, Syd the Kid. She had me :happytv: .

When the world's oldest male stripper came on, I was wondering how far they were going to let him go. :scared1:

And the breakdancing cow? :confused3 WTHeck?

I'm curious to see what goes on next week and I would have loved to see some of the acts that got passed through, but were cut from the actual show because of time constraints. If they'd showed LESS commericals, they might have been able to show some of those acts! The Celtic cloggers looked interesting to me (but then again, I'm a closet Micheal Flatley fan, also.. :dance3: ).

TOV

Call me crazy, but I watched the whole thing. I didn't really mean to, it was just on and I got hooked. It reminded me of the Gong Show and I loved that show as a kid. I think the judges were too quick to X on some acts and too slow on others. I did not like the booing in the audience, but that's the mom in me wanting to give everyone a chance. However, I think some of the acts (like the donkey/pirate) were set ups....put there on purpose. I'd watch it again, but I sure wouldn't set my schedule around it.

They could be mean to the parrot--but they were nice to the nincompoops who had no talent. I didn't get that. :confused3

I expected: :happytv:

I got: :bored:

I didn't like it at all. But then again I don't like Regis, I find him annoying and dislike the judges. Didn't like the annoying buzzers on the x's. Didn't like the feel of the show.

Can you tell I didn't like it? :sunny:

They lost all credibility to me when they let the finger snapper through and then dismissed the juggler as "not what this competition is about". But, I watched it until about 10:30...when I fell asleep.

OmG it was BAD, JUST BAD....

I only liked Syd the kid, the rest :confused3

Brandy ought to be ashamed of herself, she liked just about everybody and everything. I suppose she'll want them ALL to win the money...

Hasselhoff and Regis.... NEED I GO ON???? :scared:

Piers... Simon clone with about as much credibility.

Man, I didn't even bother to DVR it, thank Goodness, just watched the first hour and switched to CourtTV.... I'd rather chase murderers than to see 2 hours butchered on TV.
:surfweb:

I just started watching last week--so only the really good people are in it now.

These people are amazing! The band, "At Last" gave me goosebumps, the acrobats were awesome and that yodeller girl Taylor is adorable (and mucho talented).

I don't know what the earlier shows were like--I'm presuming like American Idol auditions where you have to watch a lot of stinkers to see anyone good--but my dd and I can hardly wait for the next episode!
