Has anyone been there recently? Dh and I both need to get our eyes examined and glasses updated. We can't spend too much, but I don't want glasses that are going to fall apart either...Any thoughts?

I usually get my glasses there, but don't go for the cheapest (their 2 for $69). You can get a decent pair for between $100 and $200 with everything. Last time I paid over $200 but I wanted the transitions on them, and that was expensive. I think it would have been around $150 with it, but that was a few months ago so I don't remember.

The service is good, at least where I go.

Thanks What the Heck...

How do you like the transitions, are they worth it?

I like them so far. If it's really bright out, though, it does take a minute or two to get used to the indoors.

I did my eye exam and bought glasses at Sam's Club. My glasses were under $150. I'm waiting on them to come in, so we'll see how I like them. My contacts are super cheap from there.

We go there. I got my DS's there and he's a preteen(in other words, hard on glasses!) and we haven't had any problems and I got him the 2 for $99. They have a warranty for an extra $10, don't know if that's just for kids or not. I did get one pair with the transitions, so we spent about $170 total for 2 glasses with warranty on both and transitions on one. I've been happy. We got DD's there too, but she lost hers and I have to replace them. For some reason they don't cover "I don't know where they are mom!":confused3 :rotfl:

Thanks everyone. Yeah, the glasses I am wearing now I bought at Walmart and have been "toddler tested"...meaning they have been yanked off of my face too many times to count, chewed on, and little finger smudged!

I had a really bad experience there personally and will never go back. I didn't find their glasses to be any less expensive then the ones I get from my opthlomologist, infact, I ended up paying more there for my glasses. Our medical insurance covers on eye exam each year with an ophthalmologist but not at places like America's Best so that is nice too.

ouuu, I love that sexy Libarian look, (you know all studious but when she takes off her glasss, look out, shes purrrrring)
