I also was trying to find the least expensive rental car whil in Orlando. the downside to renting from Americar is that they do not have a desk in teh airport. A freind who recently went to Orlando rented from them said that he just used the courtesy phone in the baggage claim area and they came to pick him up.
The only surcharge they taked on for him was because he was under 25 and he knew that already. I am renting a mid-size car (so they say) for about $130 and change. The only charges that I am aware of is what their website says which was also told to me by the person who took my reservation:

8.7 PERCENT AIRPORT PRIVILEGE FEE RECOVERY FOR ALL
CUSTOMERS EXITING AIRPORT VIA PAYLESS SHUTTLE.
ADDITIONAL 2.05 PER DAY FLORIDA STATE SURCHARGE.
0.40 PER DAY FLORIDA LICENSE RECOUPMENT FEE
Is there anything else I should be aware of or know about this company??
