Hi,
I'm a kindergarten teacher in Texas. We are having a school wide international children's day in early March. My class is studying Canada. So far we have been studying the animals of Canada. I would love to get more information. Can you share any sources of info. such as a tourism department, sources of materials for teachers, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I am a kindergarten teacher up here in Canada too!! I'd love to exchange info with your kiddos, but not sure mine would have a complete understanding of it all (I am Junior Kindergarten ... so we are mostly 4 yrs old with a few just turned five).

Hi Kerri,
I would love to have some work from Canadian kindergartners to put in our display. Perhaps we could do a work exchange. My students could send yours some letters or art work and maybe yours could send mine some pictures that they drew. My kids are 5 and 6 and are doing pretty well writing stories at this point. They would be thrilled to get mail from your class as well as having a class to which they could write letters. The timing is great as we do letter writing as part of our Valentine's Day study. Of course I will. A large part of this study will be discovering how similar the Americans and Canadians are. This is part of a school wide international day celebration. Different grade levels are studying different continents. Four kinder classes are studying North America. My class is doing a six week study of Canada culminating in the international day in early March. This is in addition to our regular curriculum and I am planning and writing all the lessons for the Canada program on my own, so all this help is fantastic. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.

I know you wanted info about animals in Canada but what about letting them know that although we speak english (and some of us french) we spell things alittle different...eg COLOUR/FAVOURITE/NEIGHBOURHOOD/CENTRE....just to name a few..I am not too sure if this will confuse them, but I thought it would be different to show them the different way we spell things!
