American Singing Star Gene Pitney Found Dead

How sad, apperently he did a wonderful show in Cardiff last night and was found dead in his hotel bedroom this morning.

I saw Gene Pitney at the Lewisham Odean when I was very young. He wasn't the act I'd gone to see but he is the only person that I can remember seeing that night. Every time his name is mentioned I remind my family of this - and of course they groan. Sad indeed

My Mum tells a story about going to see him in Manchester when she was 8 months pregnant with me. Sad news - such a shame he died so far from his family.
