American School Holiday Times!

right after Labor Day, that is the best. Virtually every kid in the US is back in school by then. The week right before Labor Day (always the first weekend in Sept) is also good. MOST U.S. schools are back in session by then. For the ones that are still out, must families don't take vacation right before school starts. Two years ago I went to Disney the week before Labor Day. I highly recommend it. There were very few U.S. school children. Most of the kids were really young or school age children from the UK.

I've been to Disney in the beginning of June and the end of August. It's hot during both of those times, but much less crowded at the end of August.

The northeast generally gets out the third week of June. THe south, one month earlier (to avoid air conditioning costs) and from what I read, the midwest is somewhere in between. I have no idea about the west coast, I rarely see postings from Californians, Washingtonians, Arizonians (??) or the like. Maybe a lot of them go to Disneyland...

Come on west coast lets hear you!!!!!

I will be the first hehehe! Utah gets out June 2nd here there is also year around schools and they don't get vacation till June 31st. Going to Disney thursday yeahhhhh!!!!

Midwest here from southeast Michigan. For Catholic school it is usually the 2nd week of June and for the Senior at the Catholic school, it is usually mid May and the graduation is at the end of May or beginning of June.

For public school, it is usually the 3rd week of June. And if senior then it is usually the 2nd week of June.

I wanted to go so bad as soon as my kids' school is out which is June 10, but since they will not be done with their soccer game and her tap dance recital until after the 18. Now we don't get to leave until June 21! And I know the crowds have already arrived!

I say mid June isn't too bad. But ending of June where all the schools are done, the parks are sooo busy.

Hey everyone,

I am going to the CBR from the 9th june till the 24th june. I am unfamiliar with the American School holidays and was just wondering how busy Disney would be during this time, is there anything going on during this time in the states? i.e is anyone off from school? I went in july/august last year and it was packed.

my children are off officially june 1 and 3rd(not including highschooler off may 27) we are from the midwest. we are going to parks june 6 to june 13 and hope to not hit the higher crowds that i understand get off of school around june 13. however mgm is having their star wars weekends so that will make that park busier on those days. you are picking the busiest time for summer , i think only busier is spring break

In Chicago the public schools get out the 17th of June, and return the Tuesday after Labor Day, and the private schools are getting out now thru June 3. IMO -- it will be buzy most of June.
