American Pavillion Show

Any one know what the outside show will be at the American Pavillion. A couple of years ago they had Blast and that was really fantastic.

I'm curious too. Blast was a blast and before that it was music from around the world or something like that, and before that it was Irish singing/dancing. I cannot really remember the specifics or the sequence, but there was something. This year in August when I am going I cannot find any details.

Was Blast the one with the big guy who dressed up like the Nordic Princess or was that Shockwave? DS goes to college with that guy (both music majors) and I'll ask him if he knows anything about it. I know Disney has hired some musicians from various colleges (including DS's) to form a band at WDW (and at DL) this summer, running from 6/1-8/13, so I'll see what I can find out from him.

Is Blast a show that was people playing marching band instruments and doing marching formations? I saw that on PBS once and it was really good? Would love to see it in person.

I may be getting Blast and Shockwave mixed up. What I loved were the fantastic musicians who played and marched and danced at the same time. I also loved the Irish Riverdance type show too. There has been some sort of entertainment there, but I cannot find anything scheduled this year... not in August anyway.

I just looked at my button from Blast-2001. I think they were the ones who did a DCI-type show, including Maluegena (my favorite). If I remember correctly, weren't they "age-outs" from one of the DCI bands (I'm thinking, maybe, Indiana?) So that would mean Shockwave was the following year, 2002, and that was the band with some of Matt's college "musician-associates". Like I said, if I get ahold of him today, I'll ask him if he knows what the musicians Disney hired for the summer at WDW are going to be doing.
