American Idol!!!

Debi, I believe you can download them from Kazaa, but I'm not sure, I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to that kind of stuff, lol!!

Also, on Clay's CD, there is of course the song Invisible, and also he is doing Solataire. I'm not sure about the rest of the songs, they are new songs, and he was working with some pretty good songwriters and producers. Oh, and BOTW and TITN are on there, too.

As for Ruben, I know he's doing some covers, and the song he sings at the concerts will be on there, I hear that its not the great. He'll be on the cover of Rolling Stone soon. (I guess they had to give him a cover since they gave Clay one!)

Thanks, pajamommy. I'm really looking forward to Solitare, and I'm hoping that Unchained Melody will be on the CD also.

Ruben on the cover of Rolling Stone? That'll be interesting.

I just got tickets to the show in Providence last night! I had given up hope until I heard here that Ticketmaster might release some tickets close to showtime!

Very excited - Saturday night - can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!

We were at the Worcester Sat night show too. I pretty much forces my 27 y/o dd to go with us. My 9 y/o dd wanted her big sister to go so badly. Well. The oldest was really impressed and said how much better they sounded live!! We were waaaay up there seat wise tho. But dd, 27, said they were terrific seats. Dead center stage. Yeah, but how about my vertigo??!! Now, I'm 54(as of Sunday last) and I'm sorta out of the whole concert thing. So, when the show was over, or so I thought, I say to older dd should we get a move on. Sure she says. Well, we weren't the only ones but the getting to our car and outa there was pretty quick. So...imagine my horror the next morning (my b-day) when I read the music review saying how wonderful the encore was. You know..."Proud to be an American" with fireworks!!!! I just sat there and cried. I was so upset for my 9 y/o dd. That is just her favorite song. In fact, she sang it at her school, all by herself, no music, in front of the whole school for a school meeting last June. I am soooo disgusted with myself and my old lady need to avoid traffic jams!!!!
But the show was terrific. And yes, Clay did seem to get a whole lot more audience screaming. In fact, most of the others didn't get much attention. Kimberly Locke, Ruben and Clay got a lot of noise. And I didn't care for Kim Caldwell either.

I go on the 12th and can't wait. We don't have the best of seats. I just bought a really good pair o binoculars just to go see them.

PigletsPal, I don't know if all arenas are doing this or not, but the First Union Center had binoculars for rent for $5 for the evening. If you forget yours or don't want to bring them, keep that in mind. The concert was well worth the money paid! :)

Debi,

I'm gald you had fun! I really wanted to go to the one when it came to Pittsburgh, but I didn't get the tickets. :( How as my favorite, Julia Demoto?

Brad

I would LOVE to go to the AI concert when it is here in Orlando on August 10th, but the cheapest ticket I saw was $265. :( I will hoping they televise it so I can catch my Clay fix, then!

Julia was great, Brad! She definately gets my vote for 'most improved' since she was voted off the show. She sounded great, and (you'll be happy to hear this :) ), she looks better in person than on TV. Although she was good, she couldn't hold a candle to Clay. :)

eeyore0062, I don't think any of the shows are being televised. :( I can totally relate to needing the Clay fix. I think going to the concert and seeing him perform live now made things worse, though - I went from being a mild Clay nut pre-AI tour to being a complete Clay nut afterwards. :) It was worth it, though! I hope he does his own concert following the AI tour.

LOL! SD, I can't stop laughing just picturing Santa Claus being booed.:teeth: Poor Santa!

I would also love to see Clay do a solo tour. I wish he would come to New Orleans or somewhere close.

I saw the show in Providence last night! It was AMAZING! We had balcony seats. The place was small, so the balcony was fine with us. However, when we got there, there was a huge curtain in the way because we were "side stage". A bunch of people in out section complained, so they put together a relocation team and we were all moved. I ended up on the floor about 15 rows back! It was incredible.

Just a warning though. The show is very, very long. Over 3 hours. It became a running joke with me and my mother that we were never getting out of there. It's worth it to wait until the end though.

I also noticed a huge difference in the treatment of Clay and Ruben. People were on their feet for Clay and sat down for Ruben - especially when he sang his new song. I don't like it. Anyway.....it seemed like we weren't going to hear Clay's new song, but he came back out. It was really good. I can't wait for the CD to be released! Then, when they brought Ruben back out to sing Flying Without Wings, people started to leave. I think they assumed it was going to be the last song. There was a mass exodus on the floor of people thinking they were beating the crowd. BIG mistake! They missed Proud to be an American. It was a great finale. The crowd was singing along and it was wonderful.

I did notice a few boos for Ruben and, like I said, people were walking out during his song and he just didn't seem to be able to get the crowd into his new song.

I thought Trenyce sounded fantastic and Kim L. was just beautiful. She really looks like she blossomed and she's just so talented and she looked fantastic. Carmen and Julia were also entertaining, as were Rickey and Charles. Kim C. Well.....she just didn't do it for me, although she also looked beautiful (as usual).

Anyone going will have a great time, as long as you go into it knowing it's a very long show, but worth the wait to stick it out until the end. The souvenirs are VERY expensive and be sure to buy your Clay shirt at the beginning. I tried to get mine after the show and they were all gone. The guy offered me Ruben at $10.00 off, but I didn't take it.

And so it goes......it was a great experience and these guys are so talented and fun to watch.

Late reply...

Saw the show last Thursday at the Nassau Coliseum - the show was great - much better than I expected. They didn't resprt to cheesey group numbers, and for the most part everyone sounded even better tha thay did on TV.
If Julia had sung on the show like she did in the concert, she would have gotten farther. Charles too.

Of course, even though Clay was thr crowd favorite (although there was a lot of chjeering for Reuben), Kimberly Locke is still the class act of the group. What an awesome talent.

Anyway, a great concert !

My co-worker just went to the NY show at the Nassau Col.
Her impression was that Ruben and Clay were hands down
the best.
And apparently Ruben did not get boo'ed.
Hmmm ... and I thought Philly was the city of brotherly love? LOL

Well, sounds like fun for all the Idol fans.
