My biggest problem with this show (and for the record, I've watched every episode of every season so I'm not bashing), is that they have equal numbers of guys and gals. The men rocked it tonight. Danny, wow - could I love this man more? Probably not. I love him, love his voice (especially when he belts), love it, love it, love it. I also liked Michael, but not as much as I have in the past. I hope to hear him again on the Idol stage, hopefully singing Josh Gracin. During his performance, he was singing "We Weren't Crazy" in my head and he'd have done it perfectly, I think. And, for the first time, I liked Brent Keith. I thought he picked a great song. I never remembered him before, but I will now. I don't, however, think he'll be through, but I enjoyed his performance. Ricky was good, but I was bored - I don't expect to see him again.
Boy were the girls not good tonight! I fully expect to see Alexis as our top lady - she was certainly good but I'm definitely not hooked yet. Stevie and Ann Marie really disappointed me as I've been a fan of theirs all along. I'm not even going to thoroughly touch on that first girl or Carlson but holy cow were they not good. Regarding Tatiana, her performance today wasn't bad, but based on the past, she definitely doesn't deserve to get through.
As a last note, what was with everyone picking legends to tackle? Whitney, Michael Jackson, The Police, Mariah?! I'll give Danny his props for getting Mariah down as men tackle her much better than women (they don't seem to fall under the dilusion that they can hit the high notes!), but these people need to know when to leave the legends alone!
