I buy the explicit versions myself. Editing them is usually horrid, especially what's out on radio... pauses and more pauses that ruin the beat. Why don't they do a "radio-friendly" version where it is already edited in the studio rather than having the FCC guys tear it up?

I also still think this type of performance was planned because he doesn't want to be an idol of 6 and 7 year old kids. He wants an audience of adults. I know I love to listen to Pink and other artists and purposly by the explicit lyrics version of CDs so I don't feel I have to share my music and artists with my DD. She can have her teeny bobber music and I can have my adult pop/rock music.

That's a very good point. I think because the American Idol plays to a more conservative and often younger audience it was a shock to those people to see a Zodiac-style performace from Adam. And from the sounds of the posts he has lost them as customers and fans. However, the whole reason Adam was so exciting to the rest of us was because he was different, daring and without fear. Plus his voice is incredible. People like me who usually don't buy any recordings from AI singers or attend the shows are buying and will go and see Adam. I am also happy to leave acts like The Jonai, Demi Lovato, Miley etc. to the kids.

Having said that, if Adam had played the performace a little more coy - as he does on the newly releaded FYE video - and concentrated on delivering a knockout vocal perofrmace it might have been a smarter move.

I didn't see him on CBS, but I am not surprised. I NEVER bought the "nice guy" act from this guy. His true colors are surfacing.

The video for Adam's single is up on his official website. I like it, and it fits the song well.

I agree. It is a great video.

I like Strut and Soaked. Actually, I like them all.

I also like Fever and Broken Open. My least favourites are Music Again and Aftermath.



I must say that I am surprised and not surprised by this whole thing. I mean does anyone watch 2 1/2 Men? There is more sexuality in one episode than in the entire Adam performance! Where was the horror when the "oral sex" song was performed on Idol? Where is the horror about Janet Jackson's crotch grab on her male dancer? It is just weird.

However, sales do not seem to be deterred at all. Once the singles hit the airwaves and Adam's other performances on the circuit get out, all will be forgotten.

And I don't understand what he should be apologizing for. He meant to do what he did. It wasn't an accident. I do agree that the performance could have been better vocal wise but I don't think there is anything to apologize for.

I watched several interviews with him - including an hilarious "Martini Minute" interview with VH1's Michelle Collins (where she has him blushing), and he's still "down to earth", adorable and completely comfortable in his own skin. I know this is someone I'd love to spend time talking to and I don't feel he owes me an apology for anything - except perhaps for sub-standard singing. And he has admitted to that. I feel entertainers should not be role models or babysitters. I work in show biz and known plenty of fabulous talents that are, quite frankly, not the nicest people. But that's not what you're paying them for.

I still wish he had given a performance that left the 14 million viewers talking about his awesome voice instead of the stage show. I think he would have sold more albums because the CD is really VERY good.

I'm actually one of Adam's top 20 fans in the world, so, I have come here to defend my BB. ;D

Guys, Adam is a very sexual person. It's who he is. He's admitted that the simulated ... with the dancer was a bit much, but what he and I don't understand is why everyone cares so much about the kiss? It's making me very very angry. How can you BLUR out his, and keep madonna's/britneys? It's a shame about, as Adam keeps saying, the double standards.

And now GMA, who cancelled Adam's appearance on their show, are having Chris Brown on. Violence is fine but simulated sexual activity in a performance at 11 pm is not?

How about Glee the other night where all the girls were straddling the guys and simulating sexual activity? That is fine? So weird.

Tatania, I think that if he just would have sung well no one would be talking about him. I don't think it would have changed sales at all. Who is talking about his David Letterman appearance? His Early Show appearance? They were both fantastic.

Sales are going very well. It is the continued sales that will be important. As radio stations play his singles, there will be more sales.

You know what I frankly liked his performance. I think that Adam need not make excuses, I don't need it. I am the one who controls what my kids watch on TV not him. If anyone needs to worry about my kids and what they see it is me.

True. I find it much more offensive to see some old lady making out with a girl young enough to be her daughter for publicity sake only over a guy who likes guys kissing another guy. For the media, I don't think the double standard is strictly because he's a guy, but because he's not a big name like Madonna/Britney.

Just had to say how much I love your signature. The pictures, the glitter writing - it's fantastic!!! I'm still a dedicated fan as well and start my day by looking up all the new "Adam" stuff online. He looked so heartbreakingly gorgeous and sang so beautifully on the morning show that it gave me goosebumps. I tried to sit through Susan Boyle's outdoor performance but had to turn it off halfway through Wild Horses. For me it was so boring, and the voice quality - which needs to be stellar if all a performer does is stand there like a post - was simply not there.

I also think the whole thing was/is being talked to death...he did his performance, people either liked it or hated it...it you didn't like what he was doing then turn the channel. That is what I do when I watch any music awards show..if I don't like the performer or like what they are doing I just hit my little button on the remote and then go back to the show in about 2 minutes. Like I said earlier..if you are a fan of his then this performance shouldn't matter, if you didn't like him before than this won't change your opinion.
