"American Horror Story: Coven" — What did you think?

Last nights epi messed me up. Wasn't expecting that. First Kyle and his mom, then QUEENIE and the matador....WOAH! But I did enjoy watching LaLaurie's reaction to see President Obama on TV.

Emma Roberts filmed 13 episodes. So Hopefully we haven't seen the last of Madison. Either Misty brings her back or she can resurrect herself!

Oh My God, Angela Bassett is a phenomenal actress!

This week was disturbing, awesome, and just plain crazy! I'm not sure that I will ever be able to watch Mare Winningham in "St. Elmo's Fire" again

This is the best show on TV right now .... They did an awesome job picking up the whole witchcraft/voodoo angle and running with it. Last years was HORRIBLE and I think they knew it!

Last night episode was definitely a little out there with the whole Kyle/Mother scene, but seeing him smash her was awesome!

I can't wait to see how the battle between Fiona and Marie Laveaux plays out .... Fiona is in search of immortality and knows that Laveaux can give it to her and that is why she is holding Delphine captive.

On another note ... Lily Rabe is beautiful!!!

This show is my new addiction. Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett!!! OMgoodness, they are fabulous in this!!! Finally, quality TV that features women in roles other than 'housewives.' Before you flame me about that last remark, I meant no disrespect to real life housewives, just TV ones.

OH MY GOSH!!! you posted the name, and I'm thinking, Why do I know that name?

I totally didn't even recognize her this season! WOW!

So, I know I'm behind, but I DVR the shows then watch them when I have time, so I just watched this week. I think it took me about 10 minutes to get my jaw off the floor after the scene with Kyle and his mom. EWWWWW!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the season plays out!

Angela Bassett does NOT age! Very fitting role for her and makes me wonder, just a bit Kathy Bates is cracking me up!

This is my favorite season, so far. I really like the first, but it scared the crud out of me. The second was schizophrenic. This one is disturbing, especially last night, but they're sticking with one subject instead of that grab-bag last year.

I love the season thus far, but so far it hasn't scared me even a little; creeped me out and fascinated me - I'm totally hooked, but I miss being scared the way I was in season 1.

I do wish they'd written Laveau and Lalaurie a little bit closer to real life and gotten a better feel for the world they came from before writing their script, but I can deal with everything but Lalaurie speaking in an uplands Gulf Coast South accent instead of a French accent. It is driving me CRAZY. She spoke French, Spanish and English (She married an Englishman and a Spaniard as well as a French man if I recall correctly - will have to go back and check, but was of FRENCH origin.)

Love the way they've interpreted the ****** dentata myth with Zoe. Love the other witches, even Madison.

Misty Daye - another nitpick - I hate that they call her a "Cajun." First off, Cajuns are Catholic, not snake handlers (who are mostly Pentacostal, I think.) Secondly, if a girl like Misty were born in a good traditional Cajun community and home, they'd think she was a natural born traiteur sent from God; she'd be apprenticed off to a traiteur and be quite cherished in her community, not burned at the stake. That's what Yankees do. (And before anyone gets his/her panties in a wad, Yankees to Cajuns are all Americans not of French or Creole descent.) And her name is Yankee, not Cajun! Misty Landry, Misty Simoneaux, Misty Lognion, Misty Guidry, those are Cajun names. Misty Daye is a Yankee.

So far I am LOVING this season! Last year was so confusing with all of the story lines it drove me crazy. This one, so far, has been on par with the first season, which I thought was really good!

I am in the minority, so far nothing in this season has gripped me. Jessica Lange is wonderful as always, but I really hate everything they have done so far with Evan Peters!!! I love Mare Winningham, and that was just awful, worst thing I think I have seen on this show in all 3 seasons.
I am still watching, but so far for me, it doesn't measure up. I too wish they would do some scary, a few times in the first season were good and scary.
And I do agree, Lily Rabe is gorgeous this season!!!

I wish the season was scarier but we still LOVE it!

Lily is really rocking it as are the usual crew. Especially loving Emma Roberts as Madison. Curious as to where her story line will go (?) after the last episode.

I think this may be the most altogether best show I've ever seen. The music and camera work are awesome, the story line is intriguing, the acting is superb. It's horrifying and shocking and I just can't get enough.

And the interchange about Obama was awesome. When Jessica Lang said that there was nothing that she hated worse than a &$@* racist, I whooped so loud that DH came running to ask what was the matter.

DH isn't enjoying it but I believe it may be more geared towards us girls (it IS a Coven, after all).

I'm sure Madison will come back--it's early in the season yet. I'm not sure Jessica Lange's character will still be alive when the final credits roll.

At first, I thought the minotaur was Angela Basset's lover, but now I'm wondering if he's her son. She's clearly kept him alive all this time, forgiving him for his tryst with Kathy Bates' daughter. And now he's trysting with Gabourey's character. Of course, he's half beast, but it just makes sense that a mother's love would be that powerful to keep him alive despite being half-beast.

Anyway, that's my theory, worth what you paid for it.

P.S. I also love this season. I found Season 2 very muddled--too much going on, with the Nazi stuff, aliens, mad doctor, etc. Pick a theme and stick with it. And Lily Rabe could play Stevie Nicks in a movie--she's amazing.

My theory is that he should have suffocated when Lalaurie put that head onto him, but because he was Laveau's lover, he had a certain amount of magic on him. So when Laveau came for him he was alive in the mask only because he'd had some of Laveau's magic, but was brain damaged from the lack of oxygen, because it wasn't enough magic to keep him whole. To keep him alive, Laveau had to fuse the bull with the man, and she's kept him alive ever since.

Anyway, that's my current theory.

Whew wee, how about that episode.

So many questions. So who is the new supreme? What the heck is up with Hank? What's the story with the creepy butler. Where did Kyle go? Is he ever going to be "normal" again? How is his character going to fit into this story?

And the zombies. I love The Walking Dead but AHS put their zombies to shame, man they were capital C, R, E, E, P, Y!

So far I'm loving the story line, but I feel like Marie Laveau has the upper hand, her character seems so powerful. Will she destory the witches? Will a truce ever be called again?

I can't wait to see what's in store for the season!
