"American Horror Story: Coven" — What did you think?

I am worried that Gabourey will not be around for long. Her name is not in the opening credits. :(

I'm interested in seeing how Delphine (Bates) and Queenie (Sidibe) interact with one another. I can't imagine Delphine will be happy that a black woman is in the school.

Where can I find it? I have heard about it but can't find it.

It comes out on FX, but it looks like there isn't a replay before next week.

You can download the episode for $3 on Amazon, or Google "Project Free TV" and you can watch it for free, there. It's a legal site to use, but make sure you have a pop-up blocker and ad blocker installed.

So good! I really wonder how they are going to teach Zoe to control or use her power or what other way she can use it. Seems like the short end of the stick to get witch wise given what everyone else can do.

I think the casting is great. I'm a little meh on Emma Roberts, but maybe she'll grow on me.

Had no clue but Kathy Bate's character and Angel Bassett's character were both real http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphine_LaLaurie

I read an article about that very thing. I will put what it said in white in case anyone wants to avoid knowing.

Fiona (Jessica Lange's character) is quite liberal and will clash with the racist Madame LaLaurie (Bates). Fiona will make Mme. LaLaurie act as maid/servant to Queenie to teach her a lesson. Who knows if the lesson will sink in or not.

Loved it! I think I'm going to particularly love the relationship between Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange. Of course JL would have chemistry with a doorknob, she is just so awesome. It was also nice seeing the more intimate interaction with the cast members and not stand alone stories, like last year.

I knew in the first 5 minutes it was going to scare the pants off me. The whole bull head thing sort of clinched it for me. I had a difficult time taking my 2 dogs out alone in the dog park behind my building for their final potty... it was dark and creepy! I may have to make my husband stay up on AHS nights from now on ;)

I DVR it- too scary to watch in the dark and DH won't watch with me. I wait until the next morning and watch in the light of day so I don't get too creeped out and start jumping at every noise... :lmao:

I loved the first episode- thought it set a great tone for the rest of the season. Creepy and great atmosphere of dread. Also love that it is set in New Orleans! I was totally unspoiled so the last few minutes with Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates was a huge "OMG!!" moment for me.

Looking forward to the rest of the season- the preview looks like it is gonna get reeeeeally good!! I'm sure Lily Rabe's character will come back in some way, as will Evan Peters- FrankenFratBoy!

Yeah, what a tough power to have. I hope her and Frankenstein make a good couple, 'cause it's not like she can kill him again.

At least, I don't think so. :scared:

I wonder if we'll see warlocks in this. That might be kind of cool.

I think Zoe is the new supreme.

Even though I am a fan of the actress who plays the Head mistress of the school, her slight lisp drives me batty. My oldest son has Speech Aprexia and I want to yell at her through the screen to make her "s" sounds correctly.

Does anyone else get head pain from the opening credits? It makes me grab my ears and cringe, it is very uncomfortable. My Dh normally fast forwards it for me, but he wasn't home so I had to delay my start and catch it as quickly as I could, lol!

I knew Marie L lived, but didn't realize.Delphine was real as well, I thought they were.doing a character from Elizabeth Bathory with the blood facial.

I was hoping the good frat boy would be a warlock,

I really like the opening credit scenes for "American Horror Story." I also really, really like the theme song, so much so that it's my ringtone.

My husband thinks its because of the tones. I don't agree, there is a different feeling in it that literally makes me twitch. The funny thing is industrial and super heavy synth musics don't bother me at all.

Thanks so much for the info, will check it out.

I was confused by the fact Marie Laveaux did not remove the bull's head from her lover --so am wondering if she is actually mourning the bull?? :confused3

Maybe she couldn't remove the head? Perhaps some dark magic fused it onto his body. Or, she was just lazy.

Gabourey was listed in the credits, but as a guest star.
Evan and Lily will surely be back. I adore Evan, I was happy to see him when the bus pulled up!
I thought the episode was a little slow, but I think they had a lot of backstory to fill in. The opening sequence with Kathy Bates was icky, made me want a shower LOL. Hopefully her next scenes will be a bit more spunk and bit less yuck.
Loved when Jessica Lange said "don't make me drop a house on you", that was fabulous!
Not a big fan of Emma Roberts either, I guess we have to wait and see what they can do with her. She and Evan have had some rocky issues outside the show, so why not on screen also :)

Boy! The sure are NOT afraid to tackle sensative subjects!!!
