American Girl Warehouse Sale Question

Will Mckenna be at the warehouse sale this summer if she sold out back in December? I have read that in past years they always have the doll of the year from previous years for sale. I'm hoping someone in the know will be able to chime in as that was the whole reason we were planning a trip this summer to the sale!

I have not been to the sale in a few years. When I would go in the past, the Doll of the Year was there. However, the price was very similar to the price in the catalog.

Thanks for the link. It says the merchandise is refurbished returns and seconds. How is that quality in person?

I have gone the past five years. The quality is great. I have never seen anything damaged. When you are picking out your doll make sure it stands on its own, blinks its eyes when layer down and the head is secure. They have tones of books from one to eight dollars. We have all of them that have been there. The clothes and accessories are limited due to the second hand restrictions. Outside are booths of homemade outfits and crafts. If your daughter collects these, and are ale to go, DO!! Take a large bag or duffle to put your finds in. They do sell them there I believe. If you have more questions let me know.

Traditionally the items at the sale are either discontinued items so it's being cleared out of the AG warehouse or they are items that have been returned by consumers for one reason or another.

Sometimes the dolls that are there have arms that are loose, heads that need to be repaired etc. The hospital has a team of volunteers that work all year long repairing the dolls so that they are sellable.

My understanding is that the dolls are in really good shape but you need to check the ones you are purchasing just like you would do at a sample sale or something similar. I also believe that the items are marked with an X so that they can't be returned to a retail store or AG for full price.

my information may be a little outdated since DD hasn't been into AG for a few years now.

We are in the beginning stages of AG. I was trying to avoid it due to the cost, but my DD7 had been asking. I got in on the deal at Xmas that had Marie Grace for half price. I just got her bed BNIB for half price from someone on Craigslist. She adores her doll and we'd like to get a My AG girl, Josefina, and Saige. We live in SW Michigan so the drive to the sale is about 4 hours.

I talked to my sister, who went last year on Sunday. She said the My American Girl dolls where marked down to $30. Usually, there are limited choices at this price. There were books, but no doll clothes on Sunday. Last year, Ivy had green stained legs from her pants. One year, Elizabeth was first quality, but her dress dye lot was off. A common problem with the dolls is a blinking eye.
