Well my daughter who is 14 still loves American Girl Dolls and we have wanted to visit the American Girl Place in Chicago for years but had no valid reason to visit aside from wanting to visit the store. I just got an email that says they are going to open a new place at The Grove in LA, please tell me this is fairly close to DL, if so our trip is officially postponed until April so we can do both DL and American Girl.

Do you know a date?? Oh man we have to be in town for the 25th of March and I would kill to do this with DD! Let us know if you know of a date!

I think it opens sometime mid April. I just got off the phone trying to make reservations for the show which the AG website says does not start till the 5th of May but on the phone the lady was listing off shows mid April. I booked the "Day at AG Place" for my dd plus hubby and myself, it costs me $300.00 but that includes 3 meals in the cafe, 3 entrances into the show or revue as they call it (yippee we got front row center seats) a photo with my dd face appearing with her doll as if she was on the front cover of the magazine, and it also includes $120.00 spending money for my dd which she will be thrilled about. I know it is pricey but I figure it is a once in a lifetime thing for dd, she is 14 and still loves to dress and display her dolls and I figure pretty soon she will have outgrown it all
I was on hold for quite a while on the phone so it looks like they will book up fast so anyone planning to go should not delay making res.

The Grove is right next to Farmers Market, between Rodeo Drive, La Brea Tarpits, and the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood --- maybe a 45 min - hour drive from Disneyland.

Darn we will miss it....well we will have to do it next time. My DD doesn't have an American Girl doll (she has a fake from idolls - she got it when she was 4 and I never really see her play with it, so never bothered with a real one). She loves them though and always pours through the catalogue for hours. I would love to do this package and let her spend the $120 on a 'real' doll right from the Am Girl Place! Wow! I checked out the website and this is a definate must do next time! Please post a review after you have been!
