Just wondering about the American girl doll of 2014. Can we pre order before Christmas? The rumors are it is a ballerina and I know my dd would love this for Christmas, but I think I have to wait til next year right?

Most of the dolls ears do not come pierced, exceptions are Saige, Josefina, and a couple of others. You will have to pay extra to have the doll's ears pierced, I believe it is around $14. The GOTY 2014 will not be available until January 1st, they do not do a pre-order. You may be able to find leaked photos of the doll or collection before the release date.

Now, if I can just get dd to commit to one doll, because she's in love with Saige, but Saige looks almost identical her My American Girl ... and she likes Molly, but only because she's about to retire. And she loves Julie, because that's her nickname. And she really loves Kit, because we're learning all about the Depression and such. Ha! She said to me "Well, Santa could probably bring me two." And yeah, nope.

Ditto . It is working. I pulled the book out and gave her the book to read, to get her excited. My dd has pretty much Carmel hair and blue eyes, so we are on the right path.
