Hi
We,re going to Orlando mid September for a couple of weeks. Would like to catch an American Football game. Can anyone recommend a ground in the Orlando region? Happy to see school/college games

Jacksonville FL (which has a Pro Football team) is three hours away from Orlando. If you want to see American Football at its best, I would go see a pro game if possible.

You may be able to catch a Univ of Central Fla game or a Univ of South Fla game in Tampa. Also the NFL Tampa Bay Bucs in Tampa.

Central Fla also has some of the best high school football you could ever want to see. As the time nears send me a PM and I'll check the schedules for you.

If you want to see a professional football game while you are here , I would check for tickets WELL in advance.

Not sure how popular the Florida teams are , but there are quite a few teams in the NFL where its almost impossible to get tickets once the general sale of tickets have gone by (usually sometime in the summer) or a season ticket holder, unless you plan to buy from a ticket reseller.

And I agree I would see a pro game. Its like comparing apples, oranges and grapes, when it comes to high school, college and pro.

High school games can be just confusing, especially if you don't know the players. You're not up high enough above the action to follow the ball.

An NFL game would be best and Tampa isn't that far away, or Jacksonville, either. You can usually pick up tickets for Saints games on ebay within a month of the date of the game - Season ticket holders (including businesses who buy season tickets for execs or to entertain clients) sell what they don't plan to use. It shouldn't be too much different for the Florida teams. Some of these teams don't sell tickets to a single game because they're all season tickets.

You shouldn't have an problem finding tickets for a Tampa Bucs or Jacksonville Jacs football game. Schedules for the 2011 season will probably be released sometime in April.. Now, there is a threat of a players lock-out(strike) so just keep your eyes open.

If not, any of the local college games would be good too.

Wow - I forgot about the Bucs. Tampa is even closer to Orlando than Jacksonville and I would say is a better place to visit. You could do an entire weekend in Tampa and hit the beaches there.

Go see a UCF college game! We just won our conference and beat the Georgia Bulldogs in a bowl game. Next year should be even better! Also, the atmosphere and spirit of the students/fans is great - Our stadium bounces when zombie nation comes on. Tickets are reasonable and its about 30-45minutes from Disney. Enjoy!
