Not quite home yet from our Europe adventure but I came across some internet service here in Nuremberg and thought I would share my thoughts on Disneyland Paris.
Upon arrival I was very nervous about how our week at DLP would go. We had taken the Chunnel from London directly to the DLP resort. When we got off the train we lugged all of our luggage onto a disney bus. We had alot of luggage and it was difficult to get it all on board. One of our bags was outside of the bus while my DH was arranging our luggage already on board. The bus driver proceeded to drive off without our other bag until my DH started shouting stop. He acted like he did not here my DH but my DH started shouting and he did eventually stop. Not a great start.
I really feel as though I went into the DLP experience with some preconcieved notions. Sometimes you can over research something. I had read a lot about how rude French people were and how the line jumping was terrible. We these negative thoughts in mind and then the bus driver being so rude I spent my first day a bit skeptical about the week ahead.
Check in for Newport Beach admiral's club was fast and thankfully our room was ready around the time we got there (2:00). The room was spacious but not what I would consider a deluxe. It remined me of Carribean Beach in WDW. The decor was a bit tired and the place just looked worn overall. We were not dissapointed however! The staff was friendly and the hotel in general was warm and full of seaside ambience.
We couldn't wait to get to the parks. In under 10 minutes we had walked to the front gate. The security is not anywhere near as tight as in WDW. They barely gave my bag a glimpse and didn't bother to look under the stroller. Kind of felt like the days in America before 9/11.
The park did not seem crowded to us at all. Having been to WDW over spring break several times nothing seems crowded to us anymore. Most of the major attractions were 10 to 20 minute lines. During the course of the whole week we never got one fastpass. It really was not worth the paper it would have been printed on. The first day we rode just about everything in the Disneyland park. Loved phantom manor (wish they sold the music to it). Experiencing many of the attractions and shows in part French gave them a new twist which we all really enjoyed.
Have to write more later. It's early in the morning here and I really should be getting back to bed. Full day tom going to Play mobil fun park.
I'll continue this when I have internet access again.
Goodnight!
