Thought this worth a share--we got talking with one of the girls who do Bingo on the ship. We noted that she was from the USA and she remarked that they were thinking of putting a game out like the Mickeys Detective Agency--"Find the American Crew Member". She said that of the 1,481 crew members on Fantasy, exactly 60 were from the USA.

Just want to point it out that the number of ANY nationality DOES change. There is no such thing as "quotas of nationalities" on DCL. I'm willing to bet she just thought she was being "cute". Personally I would have found it offensive.

Haha...that sounds like Kaitlyn's kind of humor. :)

I bet they know exactly how many Americans were on board--and I found it not only interesting, but kind of funny as well!!!

They do. But my point is that number can fluctuate weekly. For example, if this was last week, unless ONE US citizen went on vacation or separated from DCL on Saturday, there are now at least 61 US Citizens on board.

It may be interesting, but I don't find "we're going to make a game of it" funny. I guess I just value the contributions of all cultures too much to feel like I MUST find US Citizens.

The last time we visited the Oceaners club on the Wonder the CM checking us in was actually from my small town in Illinois.
I found those odds amazing. :flower3:

Well, I think it's funny! :rotfl2:

I think it could be a fun family things to do! Nothing more than a treasure hunt so what harm or offense could be taken? If anyone is offended that is on them and their oversensitivity, not the cm's. Maybe ships will need to install "safe zones" soon.....

You lost me on this one, what's offensive about it? I even reread all posts thinking I missed something.

Heck--I wasn't advocating a quota system or anything else!! Nor was the crew member!!

It was an innocent remark that I found sort of funny given the # of actual US folks among such a large crew. They obviously know they are few in # and this was just a way to joke about it---

"Exactly 60" sounds to me like my shopping trip yesterday at Sam's Club. I bought 8 items and my bill was "Exactly $100.00".
