Hi,
We are staying in a tower room at the CR. Just wondering if I need to take my own shampoo, conditioner, soaps etc or is there enough supplied. Do they have mickey shaped soaps at CR? Do they leave any snacks in the room? The last hotel I stayed at outside of Disneyland gave us bottled water and trail mix everyday. Seeing as it is a delux resort I assume that there wil be a coffee maker? do they leave coffee and tea bags and milk in the room? Are there any other goodies in the CR rooms? :earboy2:

You can expect some soaps(oval with Mickey face on it), shampoo/conditioner combo, maybe a shower cap. No snacks. And I don't remember there being a coffee maker in August, but you could probably ask for one through housekeeping. I'm not crazy about the shampoo at WDW so I always bring a small bottle of my own. Keep in mind that Disney's idea of a 'deluxe' resort is going to be different than the outside world's definition.

We have stayed at the Contemporary 2x on the 14th floor concierge level and never had a coffee maker - not sure of the other rooms. No snacks or water bottles in the room either. But there is soap and shampoo. I still end up taking my own from home. The Mickey stuff IS cute, but it's not really the best quality and my hair just frizzes out with it. :)

The best goodies in the room is the view! :)

Hope you have fun!

Jill

P.S. If you have kids (or even if you don't) check out the arcade at the resort. Our kids are now 6 & 10 and the arcade is a nice break from the parks.

Back from the YC, room had coffee maker with coffee and tea bags, soap, lotion, shampoo, shower cap, and here is a new one: toothbrush and toothpaste! Unfortunately DD7 immediately claimed it and opened it, I got a faint glimpse of Mickey boxes :( Would have liked to have kept it, now it's in the bottom of her suitcase, covered in kid germs :)

You only get snacks if you stay concierge. No bottled water anywhere any more, not even concierge.

They are in the process of adding coffee makers and fridges to all the deluxe rooms. If your's doesn't have one, just call housekeeping.

You do get soap, shampoo, & a small bottle of lotion, (I think). Except for the soap, I would recommend bringing your own as they are not the best quality.

The tower is great. Enjoy your stay!

Echo everything Kimberle said. Deluxe at Disney is first and foremost about LOCATION and then resort offerings like bigger rooms, finer dining, marinas, better pools and spa offerings.

No, there are no free goodies in the sense of drinks/food, but I have stayed at several "deluxe" hotels outside of WDW and while they offered beverages and nuts, they still charged you like $2.00 per non-alcoholic beverage and like $0.80 per nut (Seinfeld reference).

One complaint about CR that I have seen that I think is perfectly reasonable and valid is the lack of coffee. Now, we are not coffee drinkers so we didn't care, but you do have to ask for a coffee maker - which they will bring - but I have read that they will not give you complimentary coffee. There is a Starbucks like coffee bar in the lobby and I have read that they want you to buy your ground coffee there to make in your room. Perhaps a coffee drinker can verify this, but if true, I would agree that that is about as TACKY as me carting our bags of water through the lobby at check-in!
