For those of you who want to get a head start on holiday shopping early Amazon will have Prime Day again beginning October 8th-9th so be sure to find some amazing deals today starting at midnight

Just be aware that I believe Amazons return policy is only 30 days for most items. That alone is why I won’t be buying anything for Christmas.

from November 1 onward, gifts can be returned by January 31.

Pay attention to prices. Compare their "deals" against other vendors. I had put a bunch of items on my wish list and then added a not as to what the current price was. Here is one example The price when I checked on Friday is circled in red

I also have some where they doubled the price and then made it 51% off so it was $20, they jacked it up to $40 and then said 51% off so now $19. You think you are saving $21 but you are only saving $1. (I know, the math isn't exactly right but used as an example)

That is SO annoying and really shouldn’t allowed.

I am a huge Amazon person. If I haven't ordered anything in a week, Jeff Bezos calls my house to make sure I am OK. But last Prime Day, got me a little disillusioned. I had a couple of "deals" that I passed on but they were in my "saved for later" cart and I noticed that after Prime Day, I could still get them at the same price that they were on sale for.

So, before this Prime day, I went ahead and noted all of the current prices of items on my wish list. I do have a couple of the items in my cart, saving $5 here nd there. But none are the gigantic savings they are saying.

Don't get me wrong, I am still addicted to Amazon. but for the conveniences factor because the box stores are just too far from my house. I have my eyes wide open now.

Agreed, I had a bunch of stuff in my cart before last prime day and when prime day came, the prices were marked up and then discounted to almost the same amount as they were before. I also am leary of buying anything that won't be used until Christmas.

I was going to buy new Alexas for my kids since my kids have been having issues with theirs recently (they usem primarily to play music). But then I saw that Amazon is planning to charge $5-10 / month subscription to use the new Alexas. No way am I paying that for them to listen to music when I'm already paying a monthly subscription for Amazon music. I will have to find them some generic blue tooth speakers instead. I'm getting tired of the incessant money grabs and monthly charges for everything.

this is the stupidity of it and why i will shop elsewhere. walmart, target and kohls all have purchases on their sales that for the most part at this point can be returned AFTER christmas.

I'm not really seeing anything at all
Some things that I have purchased previously not on special - are the same price as they were then but now 50% off????

In the past there were really good deal on Amazon Fresh Groceries - this time nothing

I usually get a few streaming subscriptions as well - this time - nothing.

Black Friday is usually when the streaming deals are so you'll have to wait a bit for those.

The only thing I grabbed was another Anker BT speaker. I've had mine for years but it's starting to get a little crackly so time to replace it.

I bought the compression packing cubes I wanted (bagsmart) for a whopping $4 savings. Whooo hoooo [sarcasm}

I think Amazon is hoping that this Prime Day will get people to get deals for early Christmas shopping and I think this Prime Day is mostly focused on food and electronics. And with Christmas 3 months away Amazon should be putting more toys on Prime Day sales for people who buy toys for kids. Take for example I went to Amazon's toy section and every single toy was not on Prime Day sales and the only toys that had Prime Day sales were the same Marvel action figures I have and Barbie dolls and even Disney Princess dolls were on Prime Day deals. And I thought to myself why are these toys on Prime Day Sale when you can find the same deal at Walmart and Target? But they are having Prime Day deals on Halloween decor and costumes but not candy. So I think this Prime Day was mainly to give people a head start on early Christmas shopping in my eyes but once Thanksgiving hits Amazon will have another Prime Day but this time through Black Friday

I think this Amazon Prime Day was the weakest one in history because most of their items that they had were groceries pet food and health and beauty items but my mom got lucky and scored lots of cat food for our cat. But as I mentioned in my previous post I think people are waiting for Thanksgiving Eve Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday because I think Amazon is gonna have another Prime Day but call it Holiday Prime Day so people can get deals for Christmas gifts

all my spending was on target on-line-buy 2 get 1 free on books and movies. i was quite happy to find several pre-orders included (beetlejuice2, wild robot, deadpool and wolverine) so i made a good start on christmas shopping (and it's all eligible for post christmas returns unlike amazon at this point).

I think the problem with Amazon's Prime Day this time was they had to compete with other stores like Walmart has it's own version of Amazon Prime Day with Walmart+ Day for Walmart+ members and Wayfair had Way Day and Target even had it's own version of Prime Day as Barkley mentioned. I think out of all the retailers I think Walmart had better deals. Because when I went to look at Prime Day at Amazon I found few movies on sale and I even checked the price of Deadpool And Wolverine on there and it wasn't on sale for Prime Day but they did have loads of holiday movies like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and A Charlie Brown Christmas. But what was really selling for Prime Day was food and medicines and pet food and I went to Amazon's Halloween section and they had costumes but the main things on Prime Day for Halloween was candy. I think Amazon should've done better this Prime Day

I saved a little. Mattress warmer $10 more today, Moto phone $30 more today, Bathrobe same cost. Amazon brand fitbit saved $5. Bright orange rain poncho (DH said so he can find me, I think I'll look like a moving traffic cone) sort of saved $5. I could have gotten black for same price a few days ago.

So let's see.........in disney math, we saved enough for breakfast for one at Boma. Too bad honey, I'll let you know how good it was.

Just thought, too bad we aren't at disney for Halloween, I could add few strips of duct tape and I'll be candy corn for a halloween party.
