Amazon Prime 2 Day Shipping ..MEANS 2 Days

DD received and unopened empty package today. It was supposed to contain her Grandmother's gift. Guess, somebody got in too big of a hurry and shipped, without fulfilling the order. :upsidedow

TLSnell - call Amazon again and request a representative in the United States. If nobod6 is available, understandable today/tomorrow, call back Saturday. The so-called solutions you were offered aren't reasonable.

I get that the stores are crazy this time of year, and that I don't face the shopping problems that other people face.

But I have to point out that there's still something to be said for good old brick and mortar. And against having a single behemoth company be a near monopoly, no matter how good the service much of the time.

I didn't think so either, but the guy in the call center was reading from a script. He was already quite flustered. I was put on hold several times, but he just repeated "the script". I will call back. Most of my issues with Amazon are USPS related.

I just realized the package, due from Amazon today, was supposed to arrive via USPS. It didn't make it and still shows "Arriving today". Bummer.

curious is OP order from a non-amazon fulfillment seller. Does it say its gurenteed to arrive today? i bought a game 2 days ago, says that it will for sure come today, which it did. I guess u should order 1 day or use amazon now to do 2 hour delivery if its available in your area...

Yeah, but at what point is it no longer Amazon's fault but is the shipper's fault? If it left their facility and they order UPS or FEDEX or whoever to get it to you and the shipper fails, then that's not really in their control. I think it *is* their fault when they don't fill the order for several days.

FWIW, I agree with you. Sometimes, Amazon is "let down" by the shipping service. However, you also have to be careful to make sure to confirm the arrival date, as two days does not always mean two days.

I have always had pretty good darn luck with Amazon, but sometimes s$it happens.

Definitely a frustrating thing. I remember a couple years ago when UPS "guaranteed" delivery by 8:00 pm. It was from Kohls and I wanted to wear it for Christmas. I kept calling them and checking the web updates. They kept telling me, "it will be there". They failed. I called them at 8:00 and told the rep that the package didn't arrive by 8:00. All she had to offer was... yea, it isn't going to arrive today.

I have yet to understand what a guarantee is if they don't actually do it.

I'm usually finished by Thanksgiving, but life happened...2 deaths in the family, sick (in the bed) for six days, DGKs had RVS and the dog died. :(

These were items, that could/should have been easily available locally, but I ran out of steam. Just haven't completely recovered from the funk, crud, whatever. I spent half a day looking for three similar iPod touch cases, before I ordered from Amazon. Guess, the DGKs won't be able to play with them , until next week. pirate:

There's really no excuse in taking two days to ship an order, that says, it will arrive in two days. IMO, it's just plain stupid to send it by USPS AND blame the delay on the shipping method. It's ridiculous to offer "arrive before Christmas" and blame the holidays for the late arrival.

I get it. Since it's not a regular occurrence I think just like you, sometimes stuff happens. Who knows what.

We always always have trouble with USPS. It takes an extra day and we have contacted Customer Service to ask they don't use USPS on our orders. They can't do that so I've decided to contact them everytime we have a delay. Nothing positive to report yet, tho.

My only issue is that I want a choice of delivery options on Amazon. I don't care if it's UPS or USPS but my address is different since I have a PO Box so just tell me how something is being shipped so I know if I use my physical address or mailing address. I think that's a reasonable request. The Post Office gets really snitty with me for not including my PO Box # even though I've had the same mailing address for 24 yrs and they certainly know me.
