Most of you know I have cancer. I finished up chemo and started in a trial for a new drug designed to keep things in a "holding pattern" rather than worsening. Of 3500 people nationwide participating, the vast majority have done well with most of the tumors not growing anymore. A few of us have had MAJOR reversals (myself included). 7 of us have taken the exact same combination of a pretty new chemo combination followed quickly by this trial drug. The clinical trial director thinks they may be on to something here. Anyway, not only has the growth of the tumor stopped, nothing has spread to major organs, bones, lymph nodes etc and mine has actually shrunk!!! At this rate I could find myself in remission after all! I'm stunned and excited and unfortunately still feeling pretty cruddy but at least now it's worth it. Anyone wanna dance with me??
