I think the title say it all. I love Lands End things, and absoleutely love that I can buy it locally without paying deivery charges (no tax on clothing/shoes here in in my state!)

Well, I go to Sears (where I am not a usualy Sears shopper), and the true bargian shopper I am, skip the main racks and go right to the clearance rack..

Then I notice that the clearance rack is 50% off. Yes, 50% off Lands end clearance.

I aslo had a $5 off any Lands End purchase coupon (ask for them at the register), so many things were either no (negative cost) or cheaper than resale costs.

For example a Tshirt for my DS was $6, went downt to $2.99, capris for my daughter were $22/clearanced for $15, down to $7.

$7, + $2.99= $9.99 -$5.00 off any Lands End purchase coupan.. $4.99 for a Tshirt and a pair of Capris!

Shoes were also on sale as well. DD bought a pair of Blue Hawaiian print canvas shoes for school (I wanted white, but what can you do).

The coupon can be used over and over again.. In fact the associate handed it back to me!

Thanks for the information, Cindy. I'm a huge LE fan, too. My local store only just started getting LE merchandise in, and so far it looks like they've only got sizes 4-16. Do you know if Sears usually has baby and toddler sizes as well? I'm guessing they just haven't put everything out yet, since they only had very few things in the misses department, too.

Cindy B -- you would absolutely love living in textile country. I shop at an outlet that has Lands End stuff at prices you wouldn't believe. Some are irregulars, some overruns. I went to the summer clearance sale last week and they had men's polos for $3, short-sleeved knit dresses (the nice one with the waist and pocket) for $3, ladies knit tops for $4, sport knit pants and shorts for $3 or $4, nightshirts for $4, etc. I actually didn't buy much because I have a pretty full selection of the stuff bought at higher (but still very low)prices -- like $12 for the dress and $12 for a swimsuit.

The shopping isn't as good here as it was a few years ago, though, because so many things are no longer made in this country. Ten years ago I could go to this outlet and choose from half the knits in the catalog. I got a bit carried away on things like turtlenecks and those knit cardigans. We also used to have several different outlets, including some back-of-the-factory ones, and there's only one of those in the area now.

A friend and I used to have the best time outlet shopping -- we knew where all the ones within an hour or so were.

My Sears had stuff in mens, ladies, bigger girls (7-16), smaller girls (4-6x), infants (boys and girls), toddlers (2T-4T), and boys, bigger and smaller and also in the shoe department..

Oh good, I guess I have something to look forward to... :Pinkbounc

Thanks!

I got DH a very nice CLub Jacket last week. It's reversible and was $58 marked down to $30 and then 50% off and then $5 coupon! Total came to $10.81 with tax.

LE Swim trunks are on sale too. I bought 2 pairs for $5 with the coupon.

If you find an item that is marked less than $10 then get two so you can use the $5 coupon. The swim trunks rang up $4.99 each and you have to have at least $5 to use the $5 off (won't give it to you free) so with the coupon it's like B1G1 free on items that ring up $4.99 or less.

Lands End is Guaranteed Period!

I know isn't it interesting... My DS tshirt was a negative cost but the capris made it do able..

I saw coats as well, but the coupons expire Sept 6

Thanks Cindy B! I'm going to Sears today to return something so I'll check out the Land's End stuff.

PS--I PM'ed you :)

Thanks!

In the original post I said to check and ask at the counter. If one counter doesn't have it, either ask fo rthe UPC on the register, (it may be on a card or something like that), or go to a different department register and get one. For examlple girls did not have it, but mens did.. that type of thing.

TARHEEL...I am in the Charlotte area. Where is the outlet that you are talking about for the Land's End stuff? I have only been here about a year so I guess I have not found it yet. Thanks!

Just got back! The Land's End clearance rack did not have much on it. Maybe they had a lot and it just all went. I did find a really nice cotton dress for DD for next summer. It was orig. $38 marked down to $28 and then 50% off of that made it $14. The cashier had the coupon which brought it down to $9!! A great deal, I thought!
Glad I read this thread. Thanks again Cindy B!

Glad to be of help.

I may go back again, but not sure if I will make it before our trip.

Our sears had a decent selection of younger girls and older boys...

disneydawn -- It is called Quality Clothing and is on Main Street in Landis (you take exit 58 and go past Kannapolis), but it's not open all the time. It opens for a few days ever couple months. If I had to guess, I would bet the next sale will be around Labor Day and will be winter clothes. It is totally hit or miss -- sometimes I buy a dozen things and other times walk out with nothing. If you go on opening day, it's an adventure -- someone directing traffic, wall-to-wall people, etc. They don't advertise but send postcards to people signed up for their mailing list -- I'll try to e-mail you next time I get one if I can remember.

Now, if you are interested in upholstery fabric . . . let me tell you about an incredible sale. The Episcopal church here has a big sale (lots of stuff, from rummage to cars to trips) every other year -- they make about $100,000 which goes to community organizations. One of their members owns a fabric company located in Concord and NYC and donates hundreds of bolts of fabric, which they sale for $1 (lining-type stuff), $2 (sheers) and $3 (the rest). It's a bit overwhelming because there is so much fabric and so many people, but you literally get stuff that would be $20-$30 a yard for almost nothing. That's where I'll be Aug. 23.

looks like i may have to run over to Sears again!
I am not a big shopper there either but about 2 weeks ago I cut through the mall that way an saw some sales signs of course had to stop and got DD and DS Landsend bathing suits for $7 and $8 plus some pants for $5. I will have to do a little more looking!
