I called DFTW today!!!! I figured I pretty much have in mind what I want, and since I didn't have to work today, I called and gave them all my information. So a planner should get back to me in a few days!

So while I was in the wedding mood, I played around with Photoshop a little to design a monogram. I had actually designed one before, but thought it needed something a little extra. This is the final result:

I still haven't figured out what to do about my dress. It's pretty, but it just reminds me that I was supposed to wear it to marry someone else. Don't get me wrong, I'm SOOOOO glad that wedding never happened. I just don't want to look at myself on my wedding day and have that thought cross my mind. We'll see what happens....

So yeah, the dress...

I've decided that I'm not going to wear this dress. I look at the pictures of myself in it and I see the person I was 5 years ago, ready to marry someone else.

So I talked to my mom about it over the weekend, since she bought the dress. This was a VERY hard conversation! And it didn't go so well. I think she was having trouble understanding how I feel about it. Both her and my sisters would just say "Oh, but you look beautiful in that dress!" But that's not what I see...

So after some fighting and tears, I'm going to sell my dress and start looking for a new one.

On a lighter note, my sister and I went to a bridal show over the weekend and I did see some dresses I like. She was also able to get a lot of good information, since she'll be having her wedding locally. But for every vendor we would talk to, my sister would say "I'm getting married here, but my sister is getting married in Disney!" Yeah... no free cake for me after that!

Wow, I can't believe it's been this long since I've done an update. I'm currently in central NY doing a rotation for my internship for work. I've been here since the first week of April, and won't be home until the last week of June. So not too much planning going on, but I do have something to update about!

DF and I went down to WDW last weekend, just for the day, while we were staying at his parent's house near Tampa. While we were there, we decided to check out the WP and the Whitehall Room.

We both fell in love with the WP! It's one thing to see pics of it, but to see it in person, and know that you're going to get married there, it just takes your breath away!

We stopped in the Whitehall Room. It was nice, but for some reason I thought it would be a bit bigger.

And we stopped at Sago Cay Pointe. I wanted to see what the view would be like of the fireworks. Pretty good view.

So we talked about it, and I emailed Diane (our WC) about it, and we've decided on another option for the reception............

Narcoosee's! Since it's where Danny proposed, and it's a beautiful restaurant, it just seems like a no-brainer! I love all the light that it lets in! After we nixed the Whitehall Room because of how small it is, we peeked in at a few ballrooms at the Grand Floridian. They were nice and big, but so dark! I want something with lots of light! So Narcoosee's it is!

So here's the new timeline of how the Wedding Day will go (hopefully):

10:00am Wedding at the Wedding Pavilion

11:00-11:30 Pre-reception at Narcoosee's

11:30-2:30 or 3:00 Reception at Narcoosee's

Then we'll have the DP at Sago Cay Pointe later in the evening around the time of the fireworks. I emailed Diane about it earlier this week and she said the timeline sounds good. She said no one else has requested that date for anything yet, but I'm to check in with her a week before the 1-year mark to touch base and check availability.

And since we're having a morning wedding... we're changing our colors (again) and going with our previous pink and khaki theme! It's the only colors I've come up with that we're really happy with. So now I'm just trying to decide on another color to throw in a little bit with the pink. Maybe a light blue?? We'll see.

And as soon as I'm back home, I'm going to begin my search for a new wedding dress!

OH it sounds lovely!! And good for you for standing up about your dress. It's important that you feel comfortable on your wedding day and it didn't sound like it with that dress. I totally understand how you feel! Any pics of dresses you like yet???

Several years ago, as my daughters and I were walking along the beach at the Poly and GF, we watched a bride get out of "her carriage" and go down the WP...she was beautiful and as we were walking back, the wedding was done and they were taking pictures outside and let me just say....gorgeous!!! Perfect day, perfect weather....so I am sure with all of your planning it will be perfect also I don't know if you are still doing your intership in central NY but as you can see from my location that I am close by..congrats on your upcoming wedding

Thank you! Oh, there's tons of dresses that I like, too many to post here! I love the Maggie Sottero dresses and some Essense of Australia ones. They seem to mostly look the same... strapless with a full skirt and pickups. I'll post some more after I start trying on dresses. Thanks again!
