I have been a long time lurker and poster. I figured it is now time to start my own PJ since we are already under a year till our wedding.

Please be patient with me, it will take me a little while to get used to posting and how to do things

About Us

Me (Amanda)

I am a special education teacher at a school for special needs children. I also own my own UnFranchise Business.
In 2006 Rob and I moved to FL from NY. I started working at WDW (supposed to be only temporary until I could find a different job) and stayed there until 2007 when we moved back to NY. I worked at the WIlderness Lodge in the Mercantile and also worked for Arribas Bros. (the glass and crystal shops around WDW) in Cinderella's Castle. My first visit to WDW in 1996 there was a wedding taking place in the Magic Kingdom and I got the idea that I wanted to get married at WDW. My idea was confirmed when I worked a couple a weeks at the Grand Floridian and saw many brides going through for photos and riding in the coach over to the Wedding Pavilion. I knew then that I had to get married there. So here we are planning our WDW wedding

Rob

Rob works for a modular homes company building and installing countertops and cabinets. (He pretty much does everything and anything they want him too). When we lived in FL he owned is own flooring company (mostly doing tile work).
Before we even started dating he had the idea of getting married at WDW. So I guess we were a perfect fit at least we didn't have a hard time picking a wedding location

How We Met

We are not high school sweet hearts Rob is 5 years older than me. We were both part of a Drum and Bugle Corp. for our fire department. We hung out as friends for a while and then we somehow started dating. We don't know exactly when things turned from friendship to relationship so we estimated and came up with a date of July 25, 2000. Yes, we have been together for almost 11 years now, it will be almost 12 when we get married.

Ceremony: Wedding Pavilion at 2:30pm
Reception: Living Seas EPCOT
Desert Party: UK Lochside
Colors: Clover and Tangerine (some chocolate)

Not sure what dci is? I was part of their color guard, I am currently a chaperone for the drum corp, and I have been filling in as part of our color guard this season.

I received our LOA last week. We signed it tonight and I am putting it in the mail tomorrow morning Next step...we get assigned a planner.

Now I'm just waiting to hear from DFTW that they got my LOA and deposit, and I will be assigned a planner Can't wait to get things going.

In the meantime I will share my newsletter that I sent out a few months ago (I know this should have been posted before my Save the Dates, since they haven't even gone out yet ). I included a Pre-RSVP, I wanted to get an idea of who would be interested in traveling to Florida for our wedding (Mostly for DFs family).

Here they are:

I got most of the responses back, but still haven't received some. I did put a spot for Yes, No, and Unsure and include a self addressed stamped envelope to send them back. Should I send a reminder with the Save the Date? I just want to get an idea of amount of people who plan on attending.

Our LOA was finally signed by DFTW and we were assigned our planner......Lisa Smith Does anyone else have/had her? How is she to work with? I have not spoken to her yet, I just received a few emails from her assistant Sarah and received a voicemail from Lisa.

I am in the process of trying to figure out how my fiances Aunt (she is a Pastor in NV) can be our officiant. Do we need permission from FL, does she need to be ordained in FL.....? Waiting to her back from Lisa on my questions about that. Any help will be greatly appreciated too.

On a side note....I finally figured out how to link my PJ in my signature thanks to the other brides on the boards
