DD and I were "supposed" to be leaving for Archivers right about now - for their all-day scrapping event.

DD REALLY wants a high school scrapbook, and we've been having a hard time juggling schedules. (She graduates in June)

So - we were both REALLY excited about going up to Archivers today. Not only working on this project, but spending the day together. (which is priceless...I don't get that opportunity much anymore.)

DD is not feeling well. The weather sucks too. Archivers is 1.5 hours away.

I'm not sure when we will have another day to do this. (DD currently works about 20-25 hours a week in addition to school and extra curricular activities.)

Happy new year everyone!

awww how sad
just remember to take the pictures you can always make the books later but you have to have the pictures to do it with

Aw, that just sucks Cheryl! First off, I hope she's feeling better. Can you set yourself up at home and at least get a little done with some input from her?

Take care!

I'm so sorry to hear she is not feeling well.. From a mom that has a DD graduating in June I know how important those little moments are... Our DDs sound a lot alike...work, extra curricular makes mom and DD times hard to get on the schedule.
Maybe you can pick a day later this month and scrap some pages together...

My DD is graduating May too!!! We hardly ever see her at home (except when she's sleeping ;)) she's so busy with work, school and extra curriculars.

I'm working on her high school scrapbook by myself because she has no interest in helping or giving any input.

Maybe you can sneak in a couple hours with her on a Saturday morning? I know my DD is almost always home then. If I let her sleep in she'll usually hang out with me for a little while;)

DD was feeling better when she woke up - so we left 2 hours later than we had planned on. The weather had cleared up somewhat too.

We had a great time!!! I worked on some pages for her freshman homecoming dance, cross country, "girls just want to have fun", and DD worked on some for prom, and one of the turn-about dances. She was "in-progress" on one that is related to the "school chant" that her school says at football games.

And...we picked up some very specific papers for specific pages - that we can work on at home.

And...the bonus...we picked up a 25 pack of page protectors - so that every completed page is in a sleeve, as well as every "in-progress" page is in a sleeve, including the pieces.

Driving sucked a little bit towards the end of our drive home. And eventhough it wasn't bad driving...I literally could not see the exit signs or the off ramps. SO - I did what every good mom would do - I had DD turn on the GPS - so that at least we would have a clue that our exit was coming up.

DD and I would not have a chance to do this in January...so I'm glad we got a lot done today, along with some stuff to work on at home.

Glad you were able to get there and get some work done!

Rebecca

Sounds like a good day had by all!

That sounds wonderful! She'll always cherish that day's memory along with the memories in the book when she looks at that :-) What a great project/outing.
