Ive read so many reviews and saw the pics. While the place looks amazing, the menu doesn't get me going. :scratchin Am I the only one?? I feel pressured to make an adr on the fact that its so beautiful. I know I will regret not seeing it. If I go for Lunch can I bring something from another CS in MK. My daughter wont eat anything on the BOG lunch menu?

Thanks

Their menu doesn't interest us in the slightest bit. :goodvibes We did a FP lunch there in October and only ordered two cupcakes for our family of 4. DD was the only one who really liked them (they were a bit dry) but we all had a bite of each. We only wanted to see the inside, which was amazing, but I don't expect to go back, unless it is important to DD. Even then, it will be dessert only.

We went last month because of all of the hype, but we weren't impressed at all. The food was okay at best... well, at least the food they actually brought to us.

The CM brought us a wrong meal and rushed off to get us the right one. She never came back, so I shared my sandwich with DH. It took us 20 minutes to find someone who could give us a refund.

It was pretty inside, but afterwards we wished we'd gone somewhere else. I guess you can't know if you don't try.

Wait!! You can go just for cupcakes??

Last year tried for months starting at 180 day out to get an ADR for dinner. Finally realized that there were several in our party who would not like the food. Found the special link to the BOG FP+ and made a ressie for lunch. The braised pork was the best meal of the trip. The others with me had the sandwiches and the kids had the macaroni with no sauce; food was just OK they said. We never would have waited in the line and I am glad we did it once, not sure we would again.

I would just go for cupcakes, but no way would I bring outside food in, other than snacks for kids, if adults were eating.

It is great, you should go. I too loved the braised pork for lunch and am a big fan of the salmon at dinner. Food was great, better than other QS places, hands down.

This was all we ordered (we were 3 "Disney adults" and one child)...

They were beautiful, but not out of this world taste-wise.

We have a reservation for dinner but Im not overly excited. We went for lunch once and none of us really liked it. I would trade it for Akershus in a second which is booked the whole time we are there. So unless something there opens up, we'll prolly go. Those cupcakes might make it worth it

We'll go for lunch. Dinner menu does nothing for us.

I actually was torn. At first, I really wanted to get an ADR, but as I was making my plans, I decided that I really didn't care and would rather go to other places that we know and love and try BOG for lunch. So, when I made my ADRs yesterday, I decided to not try for it. I don't regret it. I figure I can't do everything and eventually we'll go again, and we can try it then if we don't this trip.

We are in the "no desire to go" group as well as the menu doesn't appeal to anyone in my family. I've looked at the menu a few times hoping something will catch my eye and make it worth getting an ADR, but that hasn't happened yet and I don't think it will. With that said, there are several other restaurants that people rave about that we haven't gone to and won't go to, so BOG will just go on that list for us as we don't see it as a must do.

I'm interested to try it. We have a dinner ADR in August. There's a lot there I would try and it's definitely different than what is offered in the rest of the park. I love mussels and the plate of cured meats and sausages sounds good. I would also go for the salad trio. For main course I would probably get either the lamb or the scallops & shrimp or the braised pork. But the most interesting thing to me is to me is the wine and beer list. Some good looking stuff there. A little pricey - but after a day in the Kingdom in August I'd pay out the nose for a good, cold beer!

What do you eat for lunch?:confused3:confused3

They had turkey, roast beef, vegetable quiche and french onion soup which are very basic foods. Some of the others are more gourmet. They come with french fries too.

So many complain about the normal burgers and hotdogs.

Vegetable quiche is not a "very basic food" in our house. :rotfl2: DS would have to order from the kids menu, and he doesn't care for the offerings, and none of the rest of us are that interested either. DD prefers to eat a strawberry waffle from Sleepy Hollow for lunch at MK, so DH takes her there while DS and I get our food (and DH's) at Cosmic Rays. They bring her food to us, and we eat. The day we had BOG cupcakes, our reservation was at 2:00. We eat a wide variety of foods, but BOG's menu is just not for us.

I have never complained about the burgers and hot dogs, and really, there are very few places you can even get a hot dog. Those who complain about that, are severely misinformed, and need to do research. Even before BOG opened, there was a huge variety of QS meals available.

We have been to BOG, for dinner, a few times. The first being Dec 2012, when it opened. I will say, it is a beautiful restaurant, the service was fantastic, the food great, that first time. IMO, the food has been lacking since then. The service and atmosphere, still awesome, but we are skipping this time. The menu seems limited and the quality has gone downhill. I suppose it's because they are so busy. They seem to want you in and out. The last few times, most recent being Sept 2013, our entrees arrived before we were even half finished with the appetizers. We were done in about an hour. The longest we waited was for the picture with the Beast. But, the strawberry cream cheese cupcake, omg, to die for!!

Been there 3 times not in a rush to go back. I am glad i did it and i ate in 2 different rooms. I have not eaten in the West Wing but we got to go look at it and it was cool. Mussels were delicious and its nice to have a beer. I am not gonna rush back though there are other places i would like to try.

Have been there twice for dinner, once in each room, and not in a hurry to go back. It is a beautiful place and you need to see it once but the food was ok, the service barely adequate the second time and extremely loud. I think part of the problem is the battle to get a reservation. The process raises expectations to a level that no family friendly restaurant at WDW can ever achieve. Going back in April but will do lunch FP to show a first time visitor.

We had no really desire but was able to get a FP for lunch and oldest is a huge fan. I have picky eaters and was able to get the turkey sandwich with turkey and lettuce only DD20, Grilled ham and cheese no béchamel sauce for DD12, and pasta with mariniar for DD14. They loved the rose room and it was the most reasonable sit-down meal we had all week.

We ended up going back on another day and waiting 15 minutes to eat there again.
