Am I the only one who doesn't like gourmet/exotic pizza?

Last night I went to California Pizza Kitchen with a bunch of friends. I felt so uncool as I ordered a plain pizza. I just cannot get into pizza topped with barbecue chicken or Japanese eggplant, much in the same way I wouldn't want my tuna fish sandwich topped with that.

Give me a plain slice of New York style pizza, and save the shrimp scampi for a separate meal.

I just like my pizza with the normal and boring toppings of pepperoni or sausage..plain cheese even.

I like pepperoni pizza, sometimes just cheese. I really don't care for fancy stuff on my pizza either.

My fave is plain (extra) cheese. Maybe some hot peppers or pineapple on there.

The only "exotic" pizzas I like are BBQ (ham, bbq sauce, pineapple, onion) or taco (minus the meat).

I will try other ones, but I think classic is best!

Yes I forgot to say I can do boring toppings like pepperoni and sausage, but that's as far as I go. I usually order it plain though.

I love different pizzas. One of my favorite CPK pizzas can be bought in the store, though it's not too exotic....5 cheese and tomato. I guess I got hooked on them when I was dating a culinary student and we concocted our own recipes. I don't get too crazy though.....mostly different vegetables and cheeses. Right now I'm going through a spinach phase and I love it on my pizza.

Although I do love a plain old cheese pizza, I also love 'exotic" pizzas. We have a reastaurant near us called Flatbread Pizza Co. They have bbq chicken pizzas, steak and cheese pizza, hawiian, taco pizza, white pizza etc. I love to try the different types.

I'm somewhere in between. We have fun creating our own pizzas at home when we make pizza. I do really like California Pizza Kitchen a lot though. Their honey wheat dough is really good. I like getting that with a relatively plain pizza. I do also like that they are willing to switch food if you hate what you do try. So it's kind of like a guarantee that if you hate the fancy stuff they will make you a favorite.

My favorite pizza is a little off beat: I like a red pie with breaded chicken and hot cherry peppers, sort of like a chicken parm pizza. Other than that, I usually get pepperoni.

I don't like the thin crusts that are like cardboard. I don't like the thick crusts that are like a loaf of bread. Just REGULAR pizza crust please!

Time and a place for everything. I love California Pizza Kitchen, and love to try "different" types of pizza. That honey dough is awesome.

Other times, just a plain ole slice of cheese and pepperoni, hits the spot

I am the same way! The most exotic I get is the place near me serves fried eggplant as a topping (like eggplant parm pizza). Otherwise, it's plain cheese for me!

I use to love it as a kid. But, the last few years I have lost my tasste for it.
