Am I the only one that does this?

We always put our yellow luggage tags on our luggage for DME to pick up, but being paranoid we always check the luggage belt to make sure that they didn't get missed and are waiting for us to pick up.

Sorry to say, but no we just go straight to the buses and we have never had any problems getting our luggage. This year though my mother will be with me and she doesn't want to wait for it so we're going to pick up our luggage then head to dme.

I agree with PP. I put on the tag and never give it a thought. Only to pack a bathing suit and change of clothes in carry on. We can leave the carryon in the baggage check at he hotel or room if its ready. In half dozen uses we never had a problem.

How long do you wait at the carousel to make sure that your luggage isn't there? It seems to me that if you're doing that, you might as well just not put the yellow tags on your luggage and get it yourself.

Also, just because your bags aren't on the carousel doesn't mean DME has them. The airline might have already misplaced them and they're sitting in Chicago or something. Just a thought.

Well this is a first. Never heard of anyone checking the carousel before. As long as it has the proper tags I don't worry.

I've read about others who are worried so they do not use the luggage service, but I do agree that I've not heard of folks waiting to make sure their luggage does not show up on the carousel. I put the yellow tag on the bags and don't worry about them. So far, they've always shown up in the room without a problem. Still, if that what you need to do to give yourself a good start to your trip, go for it.

I agree that if you are going to the trouble to scan the carousel to make sure your luggage doesn't show up, you may as well skip the yellow tags and grab your luggage. It would probably be bit quicker than waiting to make sure your bags don't show up.

I agree. It seems to defeat the purpose of the tags.

We have never done this, and have never had a problem. But as an FYI, we were seated all the way at the back of the plane on our last trip (two weeks ago). While waiting to get off, I was watching them unload baggage. They had two trucks and all the yellow tagged luggage went into a separate truck. So they may no longer even make it to the carousel. I don't know if this is new or not, I just happened to be in a place where I could watch this time.

During the day, Magical Express yellow tagged bags never come out on the carousels and never have.
What, never? Way all (well) hardly ever!

I do worry about the ME tags coming off... so I make sure my regular tag has my current cell number and place a sheet of paper inside each piece of luggage with my cell number and destination hotel.
