Am I the only one that does this?

My parents spent the week with me. They live about 6 hours away so no biggie. We see them several times a year but here I am crying my eyes out because the left. I do this everytime we see each. I am a 32 yr. old women why am I crying like a baby? Dang my kids even take them leaving better than I do.

I feel bad because mom saw me with tears and now she's going to worry all the way home.

I'm such a cry baby.

I can honestly tell you that this will be the first year ever I have not spent a holiday with my family and I am a little upset about it. We are leaving on T-day for FL.

Well, my mom lives on the other side of the country and is elderly-83yo (my dad died over 18 years ago) and I don't get to see my mom very often. And keep in mind that I cry during sappy commercials, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask about normal. Some people cry easily at times like this and it's hard to talk yourself out of it. Sometimes I can distract myself and make myself wait to cry until after the person has left, but that's about all I can do. I'm such a softy, though, that I want to cry because you were upset.

My Mom lives pretty far away from me and we try and see each other at least 3-4 times a year. I cry every time the visit ends. I hate that I am such a cry baby too. My Mom does the same thing and now my DD tears up also so I gues it runs in the family..

You're not a big baby! It's called LOVE and there is nothing wrong with that! Seeing your parents only "several times a year" is not a lot. You will miss them. I grew up in a large family and my oldest sister moved to KY when I was 6. Sometimes I didn't get to see her for 2 years at a time. Leaving her was horrible! We'd get sad and teary the day before we left and it would last for several days after. Now, I'm in my mid 40's and she just moved to Florida after moving back to VT for 20+ years. I cried even though I'll see her "several times a year"....Thank God my parents live 10 miles down the road!!

You are not a cry baby!! Do you remember your parents ever telling you that no matter how "old" you got, you'd still be their little girl..well it's true!

I cry when I see my mom too!

I'll be crying tomorrow as my parents surprised me last night and are in the area! They'll be coming over tomorrow to spend some time with us...and I'm so excited!!! This will be only the second time my mom has been in my home...and I've lived here for 10 years!

There is a feeling of "home" when you are with your parents...

Awww, thats just so sweet. I bet it makes your mom know how much you love her. I am a person who cries VERY easily and it can be really annoying but I dont think there is anything wrong with crying because your parents are leaving.

I lost my parents at 46 and I went to their home every weekend for the 18 years they lived in Tennessee and I lived in Atlanta. I cry my eyes out everytime I think I will never see them again.

No, you're not a baby. You're the result of GOOD parenting.

I'm so glad everyone thinks this is normal!!

When I read the OP's post, I was so worried that everyone would tell her that they thought she was too sensitive...well, I definitely cry every time my mom leaves. Heck, she and I sometimes get choked up on the phone talking about how long it's been since we've seen each other!

She lives in Florida, which is great because she gets to go to WDW a lot...no so great 'cause my DH and I live in Illinois...
