And if so, how much? I used USMattress to order the bed that I liked (for 1/3 of the price that Ashley wanted!) Anyways, it's about to be delivered and I am not sure about tipping? I know you tip furniture movers, but delivery I'm not sure of. Thanks.

I've never tipped any furniture delivery guys. I always offer them a cold bottle of water or soda but that's it.

I never tip furniture delivery guys. They are getting paid a normal hourly wage to perform that specific duty, so I've never figured it was needed.

Yes. $10-$15 each. Maybe I wouldn't tip if they just dropped off the mattress at the front door. But considering that they have to maneuver up my stairs and around a few bends, ideally without damaging anything on the say, I definitely say that merits a tip. When someone (who is not a self-employed contractor) has to do physical labor that gets them obviously out of breath and sweaty, that my husband and I could never do ourselves, that merits a tip.

Never have tipped but like someone said above, I may ask if they want a bottle of water or soda to go.

If they leave it at your doorstep, then no. If they bring it in your home and into the room it will set in I would give them $5-10 dollars total, not necessarily each. For something like a table or a sofa I would be a little more generous because I don't want it banged up.

I've never tipped a furniture delivery person. Its not expected or customary in this area. The only place I have every heard this was a typical thing was in NJ/NYC area. I usually offer them bottles of water though, especially if it is hot.

You don't have to, but I'm sure it's appreciated, even if they do alrwady get paid for doing their job - especially if the delivery includes removing your long-used old mattress.

I had quite a bit of stuff delivered and never tip the only ones I ever tipped was the got junk people.

When I had the furniture delivered for my new townhome, I tipped $10 each because I bought it from a furniture store about 50 miles away and it was more than just one piece, they delivered several pieces of furniture and it included going up and down steps.

For one mattress delivered locally or an appliance, I would not tip.

At least here, they are franchised. The guy who came out owned the franchise, and his helper was his son. I figure the $225 they charged me was MORE than enough money for what they did.

Yes we tip. Usually $10 a person. If they do an extra favor (take away an extra appliance or such) it goes up to $20
