Hi everyone, I am new to the "dis", but I am already hooked. My question is... am I strange, I'm 38 DD and I am more excited than my DW and DS. I can't wait to get the new TT to the fort for two weeks, I log on here every day and see what people are saying. I am building a mickey lamp post that I saw on here, and every time I am in the xmas section of a store, I am looking for Disney lights and decorations. I have the fort flu, is there a cure?

Help the new guy please :rotfl:

John

Of course your not strange! Because if you were strange that would make me strange as well. I get more excited about our trips then my kids do. I get excited when I see the Disney Store in the mall or a commercial on t.v. We haven't camped at Disney yet, but I think it would be fun. We have a pop up and I keep thinking about all the money we would save!

Have fun!

I am proud to be strange and have the "Fort Flu", as you call it. It never goes away, kinda like luggage and bama fans.

Hello , my name is Boomer 1 and I'm a FW addict. Sorry there's no 12 step program, there is no cure. You must try to control your addiction via the Disboards and trips to FW when there are enough $$. We are a harmless group and are know to get together from time to time at FW. Sadly these meetings seem to involve beer and a strange mix known only as Kongalosh. From what I have seen so far we may be strange but friendly. New addicts are always welcome and I hope I'm never cured.

You cant cure the disease, you can only try to control the symptoms by traveling to FW regularly and spending a lot of time on the Disboards.

Ha ha. Maybe to all the "normal" people. But here? You fit right in. :rotfl: :rotfl:

There is no cure BTW. That brings up a funny story. On Thanksgiving my parents were over, and my Dad was putting the cranberry sauce on the dish (mickey dish of course lol) and he laid it out as a perfect mickey mouse. He did not realize he had done it until I pointed it out and he said "OH NO!! It is contagious!!" He called it disneyitis. ha ha.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Welcome! Fort flu is incurable. The only thing that makes it bearable is to visit with us here often!

You caught my attention with the 38 DD untill I figured out it wasn't what I thought it meant.
I found the cure for the Fort Flu. It was seven nights with the grandkids. I can honestly say that I've had my fill of fireworks and parades for a while. Wednesday morning when I pulled out to take the grandkids home, I would have ran over anyone getting in my way.

:sad2: winnebagos, winnebagos, winnebagos....thats all us guys ...I mean, YOU guys think about!!! :thumbsup2

:rolleyes2 geez, all you guys think about!

I must have caught the Fort Flu too - first timer to all things Disney not just the Ft, and I can't get enough! I am SO JEALOUS of you guys going to WDW before me... I have to wait until March. But meanwhile I've spent a ridicilous amount on Disney paraphenalia for the boys for Christmas! And we've even got a Mickey cover for our trailer hitch.

Its contagious!! Makes you delirious :rotfl: :mickeyjum

Bxtx, When are you checking in, might be before we leave.. might be able to look for each other.

Symptoms of Fort Flu:
1) It takes a while to realize you're gone - We had just flown back from DW and stopped at a restaurant before the two hour drive home. I realized I was thinking "okay what haven't we done yet..." and planning the itinerary for the day as though we were going into the park.
