Am I right? 5 park days but only 4 days of dining?

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a family trip July 14-July 18th. We have a 5 day park hopper ticket but if we are on the Disney Dining Plan we only get service credits for the nights we are there correct?

So each person would get
4 QS
4 TS
4 Snack

Yes, the Dining Plan goes by the number of nights stayed. If for your 5 days trip you are staying 4 nights then you have 4 QS/TS/Snacks per person. :)

yeah, I think they figure most people do not spend 5 whole days on a 4 night stay (accounting for travel and all) You will just need to adjust plans and/or pay out of pocket for other meals.

Thanks-just trying to budget everything out. I thought is was 5/4 and didn't want any surprises when Dh and I went over the spreadsheet.

I think so too. We are 6 nights/7 days. But with out flight times (8:00am arrival, 9:15pm departure) we will be there a full 7 days. Once we added in our out of pocket meal cost, we are still finding a savings with using the dining plan.

I've run about 5 spreadsheets and although the DDP will save us money if I cost it out we would spend much less if we just paid cash for what we would eat (we rarely eat dessert so normally I wouldn't buy everyone dessert twice a day, my oldest and I often share meals etc). However, dH would rather us do DDP and have it all factored in. We've done DDP twice before and have been happy with it so that's probably what we'll do again.

The Dining Plan is always allocated by the number of nights you stay at the resort. Not by the number of days you spend in the parks.

The length of your park tickets would be totally irelevant for dining plan allocation purposes as it is always calculated by nights at the resort.

But if it's your 6th day of a 5 night stay and you still have credits left you have not used, you can still use them on that 6th day, correct?

Credits expire at midnight (I think it's midnight) of your checkout day.

Okay wait that might be misread. To put it succinctly: Yes you can use any credits on your 6th day as asked above.

Thank you, that is what I meant... arrival day being day 1, checkout day would be day 6 so that works out perfectly!
