Am I missing something, or is Disney on drugs?

So I requested a vacation planning DVD the other day. We are planning on going in September, and waiting for free dining offer (crossed fingers). I have priced a value resort for our hopeful dates (mid september), and I can get any of the all stars for $102 a night, Pop from $112, and Art of Animation from $122. Yesterday I got an email for a "special" resort offer, with a PIN code, for value resort for $118 per night, standard room. Say what? Why would I need to book a special rate (higher than the NORMAL rate) on the website, using a PIN???? The special rate is for most Sunday - Thursday nights. LOL The vacation I priced on the website was for a Friday - Friday! (so included a weekend stay). CRAZY!!

If the code you received is a 3 letter/digit code to use, then it is just a marketing strategy for them to know who is getting/using their marketing materials. When I first started pricing vacations I received one in the mail with a code of TPN or something like that and it was for the same rate as online. A couple of weeks later I received an email with a real PIN code...it was a 15 digit number.

No, I think you are correct, I think Disney is on drugs. That'd explain a lot of what's been happening lately…
