With a December use year, do you get to bank 100% for reservations made in the month of December? And then 50% by end of May, etc.?

So, if I made reservations in December reservations and cancelled, I would get 100% back and need to use within 60 days? Whereas, if I make reservations in November and cancel, I would be in trouble?

I think I am getting the procedure down, but just wanted to ask all the experts.

If you will generally travel in Dec, that is a great choice of use years. Your thinking on banking is correct.

Banking rules from the guidebook:

If you contact Member Services to bank your Vacation Points during the first six months of your Use Year, you can bank as many as 100% of this year's Vacation Points to use next year.

If you contact Member Services to bank your Vacation Points with three to six months left in your Use Year, you can bank up to 50% of this year's Vacation Points to next year.

If you contact Member Services to bank your Vacation Points with three months left in your Use Year, you can bank up to 25% of this year's Vacation Points to next year.

Percentages for each banking window refer to the total annual allotment of Vacation Points—not the available number of Vacation Points. For instance: If you have an allotment of 200 Vacation Points with an August Use Year, you can bank up to 200 of them between August 1 and January 31; you can bank up to 100 of them between February 1 and April 30; and you can bank up to 50 of them between May 1 and May 31.

Thanks for the information. I am in the process right now of trying to figure out the dates that will be good, taking into consideration the use year banking restrictions. December does look good. I would probably consider the week before Christmas, as my son has that week off, but it doesn't look like it is quite the peak period.

Anyone know if that week fills fast?

I'm sure I'll get the whole process down and master it soon. I just want to be able to plan ahead a little. BTW, anyone know where there is a master list for seasons/points for all resorts for 2004? Is one out yet for 2005?

Thanks!!

All of December fills fast for DVC, you need to be able to plan 11 months out to be certain you'll get what you want.
