Am I doing this right?

Few things:

1. I've purchased our tickets with the Canadian discounts. I have myself and my daughter as well as another family of three on MDE account. I have purchased all five of our tickets using my CC. I see in the pick up instructions it says the address on the ID has to match the ticket. Does this mean only I can pick up all five tickets? Or I have to be there to get them since it was my CC that purchased the tickets? Really no big deal since we are all travelling and staying together while there.

2. I see on MDE account the five tickets each assigned to one of us travelling. I now just wait until I can go ahead and book FP+ 30 days before? (We are staying off site).

3. Do we get the cards or upgrade to the bracelets when we go to pick up the tickets and prove Canadian Residency?

So many things to figure out and don't want to miss any steps!!

I'll do my best to help out!

1. Once you assign the tickets to each ID it no longer matters how you bought the tickets i don't recall anyone saying they had to show proof of payment
2. Yes, you will now be able to make your FP+ once your 30 day mark arrives
3. When you go to show your residency you will get hard tickets that you can use to enter the parks. If you want magic bands you would have to buy them and then have them linked to your account -- if you have bands on your account already they will still work BTW

This is our first trip so we have nothing from before.

I want to purchase the Photo Package and see you need either the cards or the magic band to link your pictures to your account.
This is the card or magic band I am talking about.
I assume your tickets come WITH the card and you can upgrade to a band for an extra cost?
And they can do all this when we go the first night to activate the tickets???

I think you'll be really happy using the Photo Pass, such a great way to make sure everyone is in the pictures and you'll get some super cute "magic shots" If you're on Facebook they have a page that shows the various shots and where to find them.

• Make sure you buy it before you leave to get a discount and have it ready to go as soon as you arrive
• You can get a card from the first photographer you come to --and everyone other one if you lose it!
• It is a different card than your ticket
• You don't need a magic band if you're not staying onsite -- can't add a credit card to allow you to use it for paying (and it won't open your door!)
• You can buy magic bands in Disney Springs (there is a HUGE display in the building that sells pins) and then link them to your MDE account -- not sure of the cost but i think the basic is around $15??

I would just add that although you don't need a Magicband, for the minimal cost of them, it makes life so much easier, especially if you are doing Photopass. You don't need to worry about fumbling around to find the card for each Fastpass entry, or worse yet, losing the cards. Same with Photopass. They also automatically link photos to your MDE for some rides.

Just did a quick search on the Disney Park Shop site and found out that the basic bands are only $12.99 so i agree with @deedubb -- BUY them! (you can't have them shipped, so you'll need to wait and buy them on-site) Also depending on when your flight gets in I believe you can buy the bands in the Disney Store in the airport and then when you validate your ID they can help you link them up!

They need to verify residency for each person so be sure you are all together and have ID on hand for the whole group.

You can buy the photo pass package through MDE and get the discount now if you want, or call customer service and enjoy the Have a Magical Day Moment to buy it ahead of time . When you are on site any photographer can give you a card that links all your photos. If your group separates they can get a separate card (or 3 or 4th ). You can link all the cards later on line making it easy to share the fun. When you download you would have all the photos. TIP: Take a picture of the back of the cards. One year I lost it on the last day with many family photos (There were tears involved) . But with a little Disney Pixie dust they were able to trace a recent photo and re-link them all

I see we are neighbors, we’re in HRM and will be in WDW in April. if you’re interested in magic bands I’d be happy to pick them up for you.

With the magic bands, we just scan the band at each ride and or, anytime we see a photographer to take our pic and VOILA! All pics are linked?

Yup, that's right, easy-peasy. So long as everyone is linked as a friend/family member to the person who has the PP attached you can have anyone scan their band. Some of the rides have cameras and will automatically take your picture and link it to your account thru your MBs (slightly creepy!!) and a couple even turn into little videos. You are going to really enjoy it!!!!

I've got everyone we are travelling with linked to MDE. Is this all I need to do?

I cannot add anything on the tickets but will for the Magic Bands. Personally, I would make sure one person per family has one simply because it's much easier for the photopass and because some rides like 7DMT do not have a screen to tap to add the photos to your MDE account. That means you need a MB to get those and if you're a big group, chances are you will only have those close to you in the picture (if other members of your group are in another train, they are out of luck).
