Am I crazy? Thinking of replacing CRT dinner w/ Tony's.

I have been wanting to take my girls to eat at CRT for a while. This trip I was able to snag a dinner ADR. However, I have read really tepid reviews and the menu does not appeal to us. We are on the DxDDP so using 2 credits won't be an issue.

I was thinking of doing dinner at Tony's instead. We all love Italian food and my kids love Lady & The Tramp. I have read some bad reviews but lately it seems like the food has been getting better. Really, we are not foodies so even Olive Garden-level food would be okay.

I guess I am wanting to know if the experience of eating in the castle, and the atmosphere, make it worth our while to go ahead with the CRT dinner? My 5yo twins (who will have turned 6 about 2 weeks before our trip) really love the princesses, but the 8yo could care less...she is more into Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus at this point.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Oh, that's hard. I always try to get out of the castle, too, b/c the breakfast food is not good, in my opinion, but my girls love being there (and they love the food!) so much that I just go with it. They'll only be little once and they'll only be into princesses for so long. This trip we're doing lunch. Maybe that will be better than the breakfast we had last time! I guess, especially if you have the credits to spare with the Deluxe plan, maybe go for it? My girls are 10 and 8 and I usually let them decide if they want to do it or not. They always want to eat at the castle, though!

:thumbsup2 I would totally drop CRT for Tony's. We found CRT to be one of the worst meals and truly, after you are sat, you don't even know you are in the castle. :confused3

Tony's is one of our family's favorites. I have two daughters, who love the Princesses, who were 10 and 8 at the time of our first trip, and were not enthralled with CRT.

If you are going for dinner you won't see the Princesses upstairs, just the godmother and mice, you will only see Cinderella downstairs for pictures, If you want a princess experience at Dinner go to the storybook dining in Norway, only 1 TS credit, free pictures and more Princesses, or try to get a Breakfast or Lunch at the Castle for a better experience.

Hi
We had breakfast in the castle and it was one of my DGD's (6) favorite meals. It was so much fun with all the princesses. We ate at Tony's and it was horrible. We love Lady and the Tramp, but wouldn't eat here again. Though the taramisu for dessert was delicious!!

Thanks everyone for your input.

I was able to play around with my ADRs a bit, and I changed my CRT dinner to a breakfast...I figure it will mean more to them if they get to see the princesses. And then I went ahead and booked Tony's for the night we WERE going to do CRT. So now we get to do both! :cool1:

That is great.

We loved CRT. Thought the food was good, and was very entertaining. Even DH now thinks it is a "must do" :thumbsup2

I think you made good changes. I've eaten at both. Food is ok at both ... but it is the atmosphere that is the difference. They are very different from each other. Have lots of fun! :thumbsup2
