OK, As you can see in my sig, it's been a while since I've been to WDW. I took DS (now age 6.5) to Tokyo DL for the first time at age 17 months by myself and he did great. We were planning to go to WDW when we moved from Morocco to the US this summer but we ended up adopting twins so we figured we'd wait until DH gets back from Iraq.
Well, yesterday we got confirmation from the Army that DH will do some training first so he'll have a month off at Christmas time and then will come back from Iraq in May 2010. The summer of 2010 we'll probably move back to Africa or Germany so we thought DL Paris would be perfect during that move!
Sooooooooo, we are thinking 7-10days in WDW from around December 15, 2008. DS will be 7 and my twin girls will be 15 and a half months. Am I crazy for trying this? I know there are a lot of things we won't be able to do but I noticed that there are a LOT of newer things (or things I never noticed before) to do in WDW for the tiny ones (DL and TDL didn't seem as baby friendly). DH and I are comfortable splitting up so DS can do big kid things and I even managed a ride on the Matterhorn by myself (and a yummy ice cream) at DL last fall.
I thought if we did 7-10days at the resort (thinking Orleans level rooms) that we could pull it off.
THOUGHTS?
Thanks!
Rachel

I don't think your crazy at all. Last Dec. We took our 4yr.old (well turned 5 on the trip) and our twins who were 22 months old at the time. We had a blast and went non stop. The twins really liked the character meals. My little boy loved the Nemo ride now called the "wish ride pleez" in our house. That is how he kept asking to go back on it. My little girls head nearly popped off at Chef Mickey's she would get so excited when ever a character came to the table. That being said...

It is a lot of work and a lot of packing and the airport was the most annoying part of the trip. We had the cars seats etc. I was a lot. Looks like you travel quite a bit so that will not be too much of a shock to you.

We are going back in Dec this year as well and staying in POR. We will do a few things differently this year a little slower pace.

Congrats on the twins, and a big THANK YOU to your hubby for what is doing to keep us safe!

Enjoy your trip!

moe,
How did you do sleeping arrangemets on your trip last December? Right now the twins sleep in separate cribs but I think they'll be too big to both sleep in the portacrib. I was wondering if they would be ok sleeping in the full bed with DS.
Thanks!
Rachel

We requested the pack and play cribs from the hotel (we were in CBR). They slept pretty well in them. Me and DS(5) in one bed and DH in the other bed. With the pack and plays I will tell you it was tight but I was happy knowing that they could not wander of fall off the beds while we were sleeping. In the POR there is a trundel bed so this year I think we we each take a twin and put the 5yr on the trundel bed. My little boy can now climb out out the pack and play and I sure his sister in not to far behind completing that task as well. I have heard that the beds in POR are high so I think we will need to request bed rails.

If you go the pack and play route they were in really good shape and I am a germ freak we did bring our own pack and play sheets.

Any other questions feel free to ask. I will be happy to help.:goodvibes
