I could have sworn someone posted about having returned from the CSR and was sorely disappointed with housekeeping which they said left a wet pull up on the bed! I posted to that thread asking where it had been before. I was also curious to read other peoples perceptions of CSR since most people seem to love it and I was hoping for some opposing opinions (that said I am booked and looking forward to my CSR trip next October)

But I can't find the thread anywhere It seems to have vanished and isn't showing up even in my subscribed threads.

Am I dreaming?? Or have I missed it???

BTW, we just returned from Coronado and our room was immaculate.

People who have had bad things happen at a resort will post them right away. The thing to remember is that it was one experience one time that happened to one family. There are something like 2,000 rooms at Coranado Springs but we didn't hear how the other 1,999 families felt about their stay.

Every single hotel can have housekeeping issues. I stayed at BWV one year and there was diarrhea on the floor and on the side of the toilet. The housekeeper didn't clean it throughly and I had to eventually have the housekeeping manager come and scrub it for us as theydidn't send someone after repeated requests.

Will I go back to BWV? You bet! We're checking in on 12/31 . I think it's foolish to base your decision on one or two bad housekeeping reports. There are many, many more good experiences that are not mentioned on the DIS.

Dont worry, The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are hotel rooms, just like any other- but more themed than a Holiday Inn.. Service is good and you will have great time.. We stayed at CSR in August, it was booked completely full and we had no problems at all.. cant wait to go back!!!!

Hello:
I am a HUGE - did I say HUGE ? - fan of CSR.
I believe if you do your homework ahead of time, and understand that there may be some issues you could face, then you'll be prepared and won't let those issues ruin a great vacation.
The two biggest issues I always read about are:
1 . size of the resort, takes too long to walk from El Centro to the Ranchos (on the other hand, I don't see them complaining that it takes too long to walk from the gates of the Magic Kingdom to It's a Small World).
2. Pepper Market - they don't like the 10% gratuity. If you know ahead of time you have to pay $2 for a $20 meal, then you shouldn't have anything to complain about. Just be prepared.
Even if I had a bad stay at CSR - I'd still go there again the next time, because I know sometimes one employee who is having a bad day can cause you to have a bad stay. Maybe the next time that employee will be having a good day, and you'll have a wonderful stay!

Thank you everyone!!!!! How sweet it is of everyone to be so encouraging. For the record, I am not the least bit apprehensive about my stay at CSR. Why? Because I never sweat the small stuff...(or the medium stuff). I have lived for 45 yrs and I know life is full of surprises. You can either view these surprises negatively..or see it for the adventure that it is.
Me? I'm an adventurer.

Just returned from 8 nights at CSR, and housekeeping was very good as always. We were celebrating our anniversary & one day they had the towels layed out on the bed arranged in a Mickey ears wedding ring pattern. Another evening we returned to the room to find balloons & a nice card signed by Belle & the Beast. It's a wonderful resort!

Some people see the cup half empty and some half full. My fiamily sees the cup half full.

Shoot! We are use to the Motel 6, so we are just ready to have a good time.

Disney vacations are expensive and maybe people just have their expectations up so high and cant handle things not going their way.

That's the attitude to have. Forget thinking about if somewhere else might be better and concentrate on having fun where you are. We had a great split stay this past October - stayed the first six nights at CSR and housekeeping was just fine - then moved over to POFQ and had an equally enjoyable time.

And engineers see it and say the cup is twice as big as it needs to be.
