I booked a AAA rate, room only at the ASMo. If I want to add the DDP, I have to add it to everyone in the room (2 adults, 2 kids). I also need to add a 1 day ticket right?

Can I keep that AAA rate or am I now in package land and there is no AAA rate?

We are trying to stay as budget conscious as possible but it is vacation and we do want to eat more than burgers and fries (or chicken sandwiches, turkey legs etc)

Do I have to switch to an undiscounted package if I add DDP?

You are correct that the ticket and dining would make this a package. (Room Only = room only)
For a AAA package, you would have to go through a AAA agent, and cancel the room only res you have.
And everyone on th res must be on the same dining plan number of nights, same ticket type, etc.

You have no choice. If you want AAA room rate and the DP you have to book through a AAA agent.

I have booked two trips with AAA and no problems what so ever. And if there is, you just call your travel agent, and make them fix it/do the leg work. Just make sure you keep all of your papers from them just incase you do need to call and get things worked out.

How are you going to get into the parks, do you already have tickets?
Note the more days on your magic your way tickets the less per day each ticket day costs. Buy only one day very expensive. But anything over 6 days is on a few dollars more per day. That is with the tickets that expire in 13 days. And you do need to buy at least a 1 day park ticket to get the DDP.

Before you cancel your "room only" reservation, you should call AAA and see if there are any AAA packages still available for your dates and resort. If so, have them convert your reservation to a package and you will still receive the room discount. You must book through AAA to do this.

If there aren't any AAA packages available for your dates or resort, ask about a similar resort. If they don't have any, at least you still have the room discount.
