I've tried and tried to get info on renting points and I don't have a clue how to get into that page and post a "Reservation Wanted" can anyone tell me in very plain English how to post the darn thing????My regular email is gabbyj310@yahoo.com

To get started, you first need to read the two "Posting Rules" posts that are "stickied" on the DVC Rent/Trade forum, located here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29. Then read the other stuck threads on that board, and you should have everything that you need to know about using the DISboards for renting and trading DVC points.

Thanks for the help.I'm not real good on this computer stuff. I have a learning diability and sometimes I struggle real hard to understand .I know they don't want to make it tooooo simple but I'm about bald from pulling my hair out !!!!And I still didn't understand it,BUT I will give it another try!

Nope it's still all Greek to me. I've emailed every site I can and read that darn book for hours(I do have a learning disability)so I guess it must have kicked in big time because I'm still soooo lost!!!!!I'm to the point of paying someone to do it for me or just say "the devil with it" and pay those stinkers full price except ,First I can't afford it and it aggervates me that I'm at such a lost. I figure if I keep reading maybe the light will come on.So far it's still REAL dark in here..ha

Don't feel bad Gabby. I don't get it either! I tried to figure it out a few years ago and got so lost and confused that I gave up and we just stay at the All Stars! Even trying to figure out if I am getting better deal with a package or buying things seperate confuses the heck out of me! Hopefully magicaldisney can help you out. There are tons of helpful people here that can walk you through.

Make sure your signed in before trying to access the rent/trade board. I read something, like this on another forum and that's what the mod told the person. If you still have a problem, try the tec help board. Don't feel bad, I cant even copy and paste.

Hey everyone, I've been working with Gabby to try to get this worked out. She can open up the rent/trade board and she can see all the rental points available she just can't respond or open up her own thread.

I'm thinking it's because her post count is too low. I think you need a certain number (I think 10) to pm and post pictures and such. Is this correct? Could this be her problem with this whole thing?

You certainly can ask, but I have no idea where! I don't remember. But you are welcome to steal it from me. Just right click on it and when the drop down menu comes up click on Properties at the bottom. Then in the box that comes up you need to copy the URL line. You can past that URL directly into your siggy with the Image code around it

or you can first upload it to your own photobucket account so you have it forever. If I should ever delete it out of my account you would lose it if you didn't save it to your own account. Make sense? Let me know if you have any questions!

I think so. Did you look at the FAQ's on that board? I thought it said somewhere over there how many posts you have to have in order to post there. You (magicaldisney) could also PM one of the mods for that particular board and ask them personally on Gabby's behalf how many she needs. The she can just keep posting her favorite smilies here on this thread until she has enough posts!

On second thought, I think this may also have something to do with the Registerd User status under Gabby's name. A fully Registered member should have "Earning my Ears" under their name. I keep running across this here and I have asked the moderator here to see if she can get the tech answer to this.

Gabby, did you get an emai from the DISboards with a link you needed to click in order to confirm your registration? Sometimes it goes into your Junk or Spam email box so you may need to look for it there. You need to see if you got one and if you did click that link. I think until you are fully registered you won't be able to post anywhere on the boards but here.

LovetoScrap is right. It shouldn't read "registered user" under your name. It should read "earning my ears". I need to gather my thoughts on this one. Is this for sure the problem? Why can she post on this thread but not on rent/trade board.

Going off to bed now. I'll be back tomorrow to see how we're doing. Hopefully someone else can come up with something in the mean time. This is a great family of Disney fans. Someone will get this fixed for you!!

No idea about the copy paste thing?

But are you a minor? I wonder if that matters? I think in the past parents had to approve minors to post, but I didn't think they still did that. It could make a difference. Let me see if I can find out.
