We are new to DCL and I was super excited to read about the over the door organizer tip. That would be a great tool for our family to keep things organized and within easy reach. I was just reading that Disney is no longer allowing them because they may damage the doors. Are there any alternatives?? I know I read somewhere that you can still bring organizers with loops that can hook onto the stateroom hooks. Where are the hooks located and are there always two near each other? Because the organizer would be falling everywhere trying to hang on only one hook. We will be on the Wonder and are booked in 7A GTY so I am unsure on stateroom category as of right now. Thanks!!

On the Wonder there are 2 hooks on the wall between the bathroom and the bed area. I tried to find a picture that shows it, but I don't have one. Sorry.

You could also bring a couple clothespins or clips and use it on a hanger in the closet.

Awesome Tigger Pooh!

I love my over the door organizer, I will be lost without it in August! Some DISsers say there's so much storage in the cabins that you don't need it - but they miss the point of how convenient these are -especially everything having it's own pocket that you can see through!:goodvibes:thumbsup2

What do you put in these?

All of your bathroom toiletries. Anything that needs a place, wine corkscrew, pens, sanitizing wipes, shoes, make up. Keeps the very small bathroom counters clean.

We picked up this from Amazon... not sure where we will hang it yet.

searched for "Pocket Shoe Caddy with Hanger"
We have found them very useful in the past.. when we could do over the door. So even though its small, I am hopeful it will be helpful. (just not for shoes)
I'll know in a few day :cool1:

I use this for toiletries, sunglasses, sunscreen, medications/vitamins, perfume, hairclips/elastics, brushes, combs, make up, and as crazy as this sounds...shoes! ;) Usually just our flip flops/beach shoes will go down the bottom pockets, while the rest of the shoes go in the closet

If it were just DH and I sailing we would be ok without it, but with 4 of us it really is a huge help! :thumbsup2

DH is now on a mission to come up with some contraption to make this work. :rotfl2:

We loved ours!! We kept the same things mentioned above but what I really liked was that we put it on the door so it faced out - so when someone was taking a shower the others could still get to brushes, toothbrushes, etc and not have to wait for that person to get out.

I read a post that suggested you could use two of them and use string/yarn and put one on each side of the door with the yarn going over the top of the door. Twice the storage and no concern about the $100 damage fe being applied for damage from the yarn.

I always thought the staterooms had more than enough storage but then again I travel alone.

On the Magic, they had the 2 hooks on the wall outside the bathroom that would work like some people are saying to hang the holder on. Does anyone know if the Dream has those too? I saw the Fantasy picture where they had them in the bathroom with the toilet, but do they have them on the wall outside the bathroom door too?

I picked up a jewelry hanger from my local dollar store and it worked really well. After the cruise I went back and bought 6 more so that I don't have to bother bringing it home.

I have a couple just like this from the dollar tree one stays in my Owners Locker at WDW the other I bring on cruises. For a dollar I didn't expect them to last as long as they have, and I don't mind throwing it out if there's a tear or other issue.

I used zip ties to fasten my OTDO to a hanger from the stateroom, then hung the hanger on the hook outside the bathroom. Perfect.

What a great idea! Does anyone know if the Wonder has a towel hook on the back of the bathroom door? Or anywhere for that matter?
